What if other criminals were treated like the proposed "reforms" to immigration?

Regardles what R. Giuliani said, ENTERING THE USA THROUGH ILLEGAL CHANNELS (anything that is untruthful, fake documents, even entering through undesignated entry point) is a FEDERAL FELONY!
Being here is a civil offense, but entering is a federal felony (that is stupidity in itself!)
OK, what if other crimes were handled like they are trying to do on this?
!. Auto theft, If you are able to avoid capture for a predetermind time, you get the title to the car
2. Murder, if you are not cought during a certain amount of time, you have to only pay a fine
3. Arson for hire? Well you were only doing a job that no one else would do and you needed to have a better life, so no harm-no foul. It is really the American, who hired you, who is at fault!

I am sure that there are other equally humorous and insanely stupid examples, but I hope you get the point.
Why enforce any laws at all if we are willing to let 10-20 million lawbreakers go?

I just LOVE that none of the first 6 answer actually answers the question. I very much understand that not all crimes are of equal importance, but the principle is EXACTLY the same.

First of all, you are absolutely correct. Now, let's visit the real world, where there are several systems of justice in place. For example, a scumbag, moronic murderer such as O.J Simpson is allowed to walk free by a bigoted jury of his selection, that no truck driver or other blue collar could have done. The only people prosecuted and incarcerated today in the United States,are generally working class white people. Let's suppose for example, that all of the 15 to 30 million illegal aliens now in the U.S.A. were Russian, Italian, French, Irish, or German. You can believe if that were the case, there would be rigid, vigorous, and meaningful enforcement of the Immigration Statutes. Also, you can believe that none of the foregoing mentioned ethnicities would want to downgrade from their superior quality of life to come to a country on the brink of collaspe in all quarters. Another example, being if Russia or Communist China were the government in control of this country;do you believe our borders would be insecure, and our country invaded by millions of illegal aliens? The U.S.A. is being destroyed by the plague of political correctness, and caving in to protected class races and ethnic classes under the color and cover of the U.S. Constitution. In summation, the U.S.A. is a mess. Whether there are sufficient citizen/patriots with guts and courage take action, turn it around, remains to be seen. I strongly urge every U.S. citizen to locate a copy of the DECLARATION OF INDEPENDENCE, read it in its entirety, and decide your course of action. The Declaration of Independence is not easy to find, so try a Web Search. Your government does not want the citizens to read or understand this lucid document!

Oh come on, lighten up! 20 years ago, I was a drop-out and only the crummiest back-breaking jobs were available for me. One night, I happened to notice a bank truck unattended. So I snuck in and took several bags of money.

It turned out to be almost a half million dollars. That was able to support me while I finished my education and paid for college. Today, I run a multi-million dollar company and employ hundreds of people. I'm proud to pay taxes and provide jobs.

Now, nobody got hurt when I took the money. The bank didn't really lose the money because they had insurance. Insurance companies calculate a certain amount of losses to keep the government from confiscating their profits. And best of all, I returned hundreds of thousands of dollars into circulation, helping the economy.

Nobody lost, everybody won, and I'm helping the economy, all because I only wanted a better life.

I never tire of people calling me a 'conspiracy boy', so I'll tell ya what I think.

Immigration could be solved. We have the manpower, and the American public would support it. Therefore, there must be someone who is making a buck or two off of illegal immigration. Obviously, the corporations love cheap labor. I really don't think our Congress or our President want to stop immagration. I mean, they rant about 'Homeland Security', but anyone can walk into our country. What good is security on a plane if I can cross the border on foot?

This isn't an issue that Congress will address, take my word. The lobbyists WANT illegals here.

If all crime was handled the way that Illegal Immigration is handled we would be living in Wonder Land and hunting down a very late white rabbit.

The minds of politicians and lawyers work in ways that baffle those of us that have not trained ourselves to be ignorant of common sense reality.

And I agree that the state of affairs that exists today is tantamount to outright Anarchy! We need to put the illegal out and keep them out. We need to dry up the jobs and social services that they come here for, in the first place. We need to punish--to the maximum extent possible--employers that hire them. I agree with you 100% so I'm not really answering the question. A lot of people just don't take the time to think about what illegals are doing to this country. They believe the hype of politicians. They believe the cornball idea that they're honest hard working people just here to make a better life for themselves (after sneaking across our borders and spitting on our Constitution!).

There is no point and it makes US citizens second class citizens. I got an email yesterday about a woman in Colorado who had to go to traffic court for a speeding ticket and had to wait behind the foreigners because the interpreter needed to leave work. They were not punished for not having licenses and were offered payment plans.
