or go against his commander in chief...if we all know that a soldier's job is to fight and keep fighting until he is ordered to stop fighting, then why do we pretend to believe that Petraeus would give any other report than one saying ....things are rosy and and will get rosier if we stay the course...but it wont be easy? Why do americans pretend so much? It kind of reminds me of another phenomenon called the santa clause phenomenon.

That is why he was hired.

His commander, the Chairman of the Joint Chiefs does not agree with him, the GAO report doesn't agree with him, the A/P results of those killed does not agree with him and Iraqi's Army has taken steps backwards!

Only one of the 20% who think Bush doesn't tell lies would agree with the report.

My issue is not with what he put in! Mine is what HE LEFT OUT!!

Congress approved his appointment. While General Petraeus is legally bound to follow the orders of his superiors, his current orders are to give an accurate assessment and recommendation concerning the ongoings here in Iraq. No one knows more about the boots on the ground in Iraq than he; it's his job.

Actually, I thought Patraeus was in his position because the Democrats, along with the Republicans, in Congress unanimously agreed to approve him. Or does the truth actually matter to you?

Every democrat unanimously voted to appoint Petraus. So don't give us that BS Bush ok'd him. The DEMS ok'd him, and are now criticizing him for giving the report they sent him to get.
