Is it a long process that takes forever or do they come and arrest the person? Just curious.

I'm a Southern California renter that has been renting this home for over 10 years. I've been denied renters insurance because the home has a wood shake roof that is in disrepair. I've asked property managers to replace with no results.

Besides moving out to a safer home, what actions can I take against the owner/property manager to get this roof replaced? I've already made a buyers offer on the house however owner won't discuss it.

Thanks

Gain power through democracy then create an act that gives unlimited power (patriot act) Then abuse that power by attacking other countries for reasons that he claims are just while lying to the people and sending the young people of the nation to die. It didn't end well for Germany.

i always hear about the surge ending in april.. what is that? what does that mean? soldiers are now up to 15 month deployment is it possible for them to be coming home sooner.. or worse stay longer? many of the pres. candidates for next year say they want to pull out. but it kind of makes sense that if they pull out too quick, there can be problems. where is this going?!

How does one get CSE to do anything??? I am completely fed up with these people. My son's father is behind $2000+ in child support which according to the CSE handbook is punishable by lose of license and jail time. They cant even locate my file when I call. So how do I try to work with these people in a polite way to get anything done?

Ofcourse your thinking how can there be a river, well my friends does anybody know how rivers are formed, well with that in mind, can you argue that already a steady stream has developed in Iraq. Yes a steady stream of blood is already there and that stream if kept fed at its ever increasing rate by 2010 will turn into a RIVER OF BLOOD. I for one wouldn't like to see this happen so I guess my question really is what can we do to stop it. I once suggested we come together as a race and learn to use all our hidden powers. But all that got me was a whole bunch of ridicule. Well you know what I don't care cuz I know I AM RIGHT. If we stop killing each other we have a chance to save ourselfs and the planet and prevent this river from ever forming and dry up the stream that exists now. We can do it all we have do to is wake up and realize desperate times call for desperate measures. My question is do you all love at least your planet and each other enough to stop your own destruction do you?

Consider the history of Democracies. For example, the world's #1 Democracy, the USA, has waged numerous wars in the last century (WWI, WWII, Korea, Vietnam, Iraq I, Bosnia, Kosovo, Afghanistan, Iraq II, and soon Iran and Sudan, not to mention numerous others) and has extortionate tax rates and has even resorted to enslaving their population numerous times to fight for the military (and still has registration for this heinous human rights violation). The record of Democracies tends to show that they aren't actually as peaceful as we like to think they are.

Of course, that ignores that Germany had a democracy after WWI and elected Hitler and that most democracies have collapsed.

Is Hoppe right? Is Democracy a God that Failed?

I recently got fired from my job. It has been an extremelly messy break up. The last straw right now is that they will not pay me for my overtime. I believe I am owed $1,400 in overtime. In all of this, I was never given any notice that I would be laid off, my employer is trying to combat my unemployment claim, it has become VERY public (front page story in our local newspaper), my ex boss cleaned out my office BEFORE I was fired and took my file containing my contract with the business along with any notes I had from review meetings. They will not pay me my overtime stating that I was an exempt employee. I had a meeting with my ex boss stating that i was non-exempt because I didn't oversee any employees. We agreed that my accrued overtime hours would count as vacation. Now they will not pay. They have slandered me in the newspaper and I have never been given a reason why I was fired. Do I have a case to sue them? Would anyone represent such a small case? (i live in colo.)

Not wanting to be disrespectful of Mr. Snow's serious situation ... will probably get slammed ... But the question still stands.

Tony has a good salary, maybe he's in the top 5-6-7% of wage earners. Still he claims he is stepping down because he is running out of money.

What about us millions who earn less? ... we can't go out and pick up a lucrative gig on the speaking circuit if we get seriously ill? How will healthcare fail us?

I am thinking about joining the army but I don't know how much of a good life they live. I want to have money to spend but I don't know how good the army actually treats you I don't really care about the college money so don't throw that in my face I won't to know about the income. And I do plan to live on base so will that cut back on cost dramatically or will they take money out of my check to pay for living on base. TY

I have heard some conservatives accuse liberals of not wanting the troop surge to be a "success". What would make it "successful", though? After all, we have already implemented democracy in Iraq, just as Bush wanted. However, it seems to me that the only way the troop surge would be a resounding success would be if all (or at least most) of the infighting and terrorist activity were suppressed, and given the nature of Islamic fundamentalism, this seems highly unrealistic.
