Gain power through democracy then create an act that gives unlimited power (patriot act) Then abuse that power by attacking other countries for reasons that he claims are just while lying to the people and sending the young people of the nation to die. It didn't end well for Germany.

One difference is that Bush has a limit on his term. Of course he will be replaced by somebody who cares just as little for the peoples rights as he does. Remember that if (God forbid) Hillery were elected that she has said very clearly right here in Yahoo that she intends to do away with the Bill of Rights. My thinking is that is far more of a move against the people than anything Bush ever dreamed of AND is is still over a year to the election!

Well.actually there would be more with FDR (I'm not calling him Hitler,mind you),but he did have internment camps.suppressed the media,propaganda,held 4 terms,spied on people,locked up dissenters. So you see,you 'd have to call him by that name as well.
