So here I am sitting in college with tons of free time. I don't go to parties, my friends happen to be at their jobs when I'm not at mine and vise versa, and I think cops are pretty cool so I'd like to devote some of my time as an auxiliary police officer. I'll admit going into police work is something I'm keeping in the back of my head if my other career aspirations don't work out and I just want to give something back to my community (I live at home btw). So, to my question, is it generally easy to become an auxilary officer for a local department? And also, what is the hiring process like?

Instead of electing people who want postions of power, what do you think about electing anyone for postions of political responsibility whatever they want to or not?

Could we have that here? With no abusive reporting of people for disagreeing?

That is a cowardly little way of dealing with someone just because they say things you don't like to read. And it poisons things for real honest discussion and debate and yes maybe even learning something.

Who else is disgusted by abusive reporters and wants this to be a free and open forum??

I live in a condominium community in Ohio and our association by-laws and I think there is some kind of state law that says you have to be a condominium unit owner to serve as president of the board. You can not be a renter or a person residing in the home with the owner. We have a president now who is not a home owner but insteads lives with her mother she's held this position for a couple of months now. Shes found out that we're trying to have her removed again so her mother transferred ownership of her unit over to this woman. We know the unit can be transferred over to this woman but it seems as though it's only being done so that she can hold her position as president. Isn't this fraud? Is there anything we can do to have her charged for this? A couple of years ago this same person held the same position she was asked to resign after the treasurer was cout embezelling and it was found out she was not a home owner she did resign only after fighting and threatening others.

Our government (federal and state) seem to use the constitution only when it is in their best interests. As citizens of California, the constitution is ignored when we attempt to apply it to us.

Honestly, people. You can't just keep blaming the immigrants for everything. People have been doing it for 200 years. We've increased restrictions on it, tightened up border control, and yet these problems have ceased to go away afterward.
Has anyone thought that maybe the two really aren't that related?
Our economy is not messed up because of immigrants. It is messed up because of generations of ridiculous laws and policies and a corrupt government.
Our crime rate is not highered by immigrants. Very light research can show that immigrants have a nearly identical crime rate to non-immigrant males.
Our nation is not endangered by immigrants. This one is too ridiculous to even argue against. There's just as much chance as an American doing the same thing.
So what I'm asking is, why do people keep blaming them? This is an honest question. I want to know why it happens.
(note: everytime I said 'immigrant' I meant illegal or no)

My husband is going to enlist in the Navy in a couple of months. I've read a little bit about on base housing and BAH, but I don't know much. When does my family qualify to recieve BAH or housing on base? Do we have to wait until he finishes basic? Or after training for whatever job he chooses? Thanks ahead of time for your answers.

Why does everyone still use the phrase "Iraq War" or "War in Iraq" for what is obviously not a war, but an occupation?

Does Bush gain points with his base for being a "War President" instead of an "Occupation President"?

Do the Democrats score with their base by being "Anti-War" instead of "Anti-Occupation"?

lets have some truth in language.

The people of the state of California voted to legalize medicinal pot. In my thinking, if "the people have spoken", the law should be enforced.
The federal government however, steps in and disregards the will of the people of the state of California and arrests the individuals who legally are operating dispensaries.

I'm confused, are we free to have our voices heard only when it "pleases" the federal government?

The phone was ringing and he told my friend i wasnt home and i was all like: "dont hang up im home!!" and he was all like 'f you' and then he punched my face (i have really sensitive skin and it will bruise)and my mom was standing right there in the middle of it and didnt do anything.

SHE NEVER DOES ANYTHING WHEN HE PHYSICALLY HURTS ME!! I dont want to call the police because i have enough to do with them with custody issues but i think he needs anger management?

he always beats on me when his life is going wrong which it always is, and he is way the hell bigger than me and older by only one year. What can i do about this? I'm serious about this, i feel like my life is in danger and there is no one out there to help me. My mom just shrugged it off, thats it and my face is frikkin stinging!!

WHAT CAN I DO? WHO can i get to come see him, im serious he has problems and i dont know why he takes his problems out on me but its horrible its like living in an abusive, negative hell

Let's say that the law demanded you to do something which was against your moral belief. The government had gone all out and was openly corrupt (not saying it's exactly dandy as it is now). How would you react? Would you go along with unjust laws? How would you act out? What could possibly be done when you feel/are powerless?

I am struggling on developing a position on abortion. I support banning the partial-birth abortion, but am not sure about fetuses that would not survive on their own. I continue struggling to endorse murder, and do not think that women whould have a right to murder their babies. I think that for medical reasons, or in the case of rape or incest, women should be able to abort their babies. I also support reforming the adoption system to encourage more adoption. Can you please help me develop a stance on abortion? I even want to hear people who disagree with what I currently believe. By the way, I currently support Roe v.s. Wade which says that all abortions are legal in the first three months of pregnancy, only pregnancies caused by rape or incest or that create a medical condition may be terminated in the next three months, and during the last 3 months of pregnancy, only a women that has a medical condition caused by their pregnancy may abort their baby. Thank you!
