Honestly, people. You can't just keep blaming the immigrants for everything. People have been doing it for 200 years. We've increased restrictions on it, tightened up border control, and yet these problems have ceased to go away afterward.
Has anyone thought that maybe the two really aren't that related?
Our economy is not messed up because of immigrants. It is messed up because of generations of ridiculous laws and policies and a corrupt government.
Our crime rate is not highered by immigrants. Very light research can show that immigrants have a nearly identical crime rate to non-immigrant males.
Our nation is not endangered by immigrants. This one is too ridiculous to even argue against. There's just as much chance as an American doing the same thing.
So what I'm asking is, why do people keep blaming them? This is an honest question. I want to know why it happens.
(note: everytime I said 'immigrant' I meant illegal or no)

An addition to clear things up: To those insulting me, not only did I say I included illegals in the group I was talking about every time I said 'immigrant', thus not mislabeling a thing, but I also said this was an honest question. I want you to try yo prove me wrong, not insult me and tell me I need to prove it to you. I was not trying to force information, I was providing the information I had that lead me to believe differently from what I've heard. My crime rate statistics were only of males, illegal or not ages, 18-24. I should have been more specific. That's my mistake. Yes, I realize they are illegal just for being here, I wrote my question under the pretense that that is an unfair label. Sorry for any misunderstandings.

It's not immigration that they blame, it's illegal immigration.
I say, blame the immigration office. There's plenty of illegals who have filed their paperwork and waiting for it to go through. If the process took under 9 years then they wouldn't have to complain about 'illegals' and could find themselves another scapegoat.

Also, it has a lot to do with the media. Most people don't question what they are told even if its not accompanied by a list of credible sources and some statistics. I know statistics are hard to find..but people should make an attempt to do some research before they type "illegals are taking our jobs." I don't know if they have ever even taken the time to research the subject before making these statement.

During the last elections the scapegoat was the "gay marriage issue." Now it seems "illegals" is the current way to keep Americans entertained. These politicians should be worrying about the real issues rather than mesmerizing its citizens into not asking questions.

Many blame illegals and

criminals

from all races evenly. All lawbreakers cause costs to society.

Legal immigrants have nothing to fear, but are often sympathizers who overlook the legal

facts

and instead become defensive because they think they and their race deserve better treatment in a world where discrimination is inbred into every race.

I keep reminding many conservatives that if they would drop the derogatory cr&p, they would have higher ground to stand upon that is unassailable. No one can argue the

fact

that the illegal aliens are here illegally.

By trying to keep this issue confined to the legal issues, it would preserve them from the dirt with an unassailable argument that no one can defeat, short of begging for a change to the law or an

unreasonable amnesty.

Illegal immigrants have chosen to be law-breakers and

selfishly disregard the law

as soon as they step across, or are driven across, or overstay their visas.

Simple.

I don't worry about the economic ramifications, racial overtones, or moralistic arguments and find them all to rely on opinionated perspective rather than fact, although I too do have an opinion when baited to express it.

Other immigrants do have certain problems that any poor grouping has, but not all immigrants are poor, and their problems differ vastly from that of the poor legal and illegals that abuse the system and commit further crimes as do any disadvantaged racial grouping. To completely ignore the problem issues based upon opinion is a blindness that only proves stupidity and lack of regard for the

law.

Immigrants have always been displacers of the status quo and reactionaries will always try to deter the loss of their power to them. This forum just happens to be a propagandist tool for both sides to voice their minds and not everyone always agrees.

Keep it to the fact of illegality and you might see the reasons for the blame-game when everyone takes out all the weapons they have to argue the issue from whatever statistics they choose to skew in their favor.

Who's blaming legal immigrants? I consistently see people who want the illegals gone pointing out the difference of the two groups and the ones defending them lumping the legals with the illegals. Illegals DO have a higher crime rate, probably due to the fact that many come to this country to profit from their crimes (drug dealers, human traffickers etc.) . If you say light research will prove otherwise site a credible source.

We aren't endangered by immigrants? Well I think 9/11 disproves that in a big way. We do not have a secure border and terrorists can just walk in, or don't you think someone from Al-queda can handle a desert crossing? Can an American be a mass murderer? yes of course, but that doesn't mean we should just ignore the ones from other countries too.

The research into this subject has been intense and in depth, and research CONTINUES to support the FACT that the over abundance of illegals in our country is doing us great harm. That is why the pro-illegals are turning to racism again and again, because that's all they have to cling too.

Add-
by limiting the ages to 18-24 you exclude the majority of the illegals (who are generally older) and tip the numbers toward immigrant students, how very clever, to bad I noticed. I don't need to prove it AGAIN, the stats for this have been posted over and over in this forum.

No different occasion is waiting to confront the concern of mass immigration. Mass immigration into the united kingdom has been an unmitigated catastrophe. the subject concerns it has brought about are painfully glaring to anybody different than our elected representatives! that's infrequently dazzling the British anybody is turning to the only group of human beings who're no longer in denial approximately this. If mainstream politicians are truly as worried approximately this as they say they are - all they ought to do is hear to their very very own human beings and act for this reason. The BNP danger could disappear in one day. The UAF are often a a methods left enterprise. The a methods left has been in charge for dying, misery, oppression and poverty on a scale Hitler would desire to in basic terms dream approximately. a methods worse than even the Fascists. they do no longer look to be a functional option. Incidently, Islam is a faith no longer a race. subsequently being anti muslim isn't racist.

once again a mistated question.

their is a huge diffrence between an immigrant and an illegal immigrant.

i rarley hear anyone complaining about immigrants it is almost always about illegal immigrants. They do cause a lot of problems, cost us a lot of money

your light research is wrong illegal immigrants have a much higher per capa crime rate than any other sector of society 21% to be exact that is 6 times the norm.

as a matter of fact their crime rate is 100% if you consider they all broke the law by entering the US illegally.

I agree that all of america's problems dont fall on illegal immigrants, but they do cause problems cost us money.

They should enter the country legally as many people do every year.

Jealousy and hate. As long as we have white people we will have racism, jealousy and hate.Pointing out that only white people are racist against illegals , is not going to change their mind. They are not going to change probably for a long time. My point in bringing it up is to show that is the main reason they are against the illegals. Very few have the guts to admit it on here.

First off, illegal aliens are 100% criminals, thus the designation "illegal".

Our immigration policy is not tight and our borders are not controlled. I'm not sure where you are getting your information from.

We have a problem with criminal illegal aliens. We have a problem with illegal aliens putting a major financial burden on our healthcare systems and our education institutions.

I do not blame the illegal aliens for wanting to be here. I blame our politicians and our government for not properly enforcing our immigrations laws, restricting immigration based on skilled workers and building a fence & enforcing our southern border. I also blame our government for not cracking down on people who hire illegal's and for local government entities that refuse to enforce immigration laws or cooperate with the federal government.

The fact is we need better controls on our immigration.
We need to know who is here, when they come and when they go. We can not afford the burden being put on our country.

Trying to justify or rationalize the problem or the illegal behavior does not help.

I read that in Britain, they recently allowed illegal immigrants to apply for health welfare and unemployment benefits. They found that they have half the unemployment rate of citizens (but maybe they just don't apply because they are still afraid to).

We're not blaming them for much, just for crossing the national border without permission, using social services (and bleeding them dry!) that they should NOT be entitled to, defrauding welfare, stealing SSNs, filing fraudulent tax returns, increasing the rate of violent crimes, defying our law enforcement, using America's laws against itself ...

Of course, there are legal Americans who commit these and other crimes, but they are LEGAL Americans and we HAVE to deal with them. How would mexico like it if we sent Americans citizen criminals into mexico? Oh? Whats that? mexico would go to war with us for that? HHmmmmm....
