My husband was punched in the face at work by another coworker. He did not lay a hand on the guy. The police were called and the guy was charged with misdemeanor assault. We went to the hospital and my husband had a fractured jaw. He had to have surgery to correct it and they put arch bars on his teeth with rubber bands so he could not open his mouth. He had to wear those for six weeks, eat an all liquid diet and was out of work for 4 weeks.

We did not file a workmans comp claim. His health insurance paid for almost all of it. We are planning on suing the guy for lost wages, pain and suffering, the cost of the surgery and attorney fees. The surgery was $38,000 (insurance covered most of it).

Will we get the cost of surgery or does insurance get that back?

Earlier this month, a pair of Russian Tu-95 strategic bombers approached the Pacific Island of Guam — home to a major U.S. military base — for the first time since the Cold War.

Last month, two similar bombers briefly entered British air space but turned back after British fighter jets intercepted them. Norwegian F-16s were also scrambled when the Tu-95s headed south along the Norwegian coast in international air space.

Can we please promise to keep Politics out of this one ?

Many towns in Texas have been inundated with rain this year . Many towns already have more than a 17 inch surplus of rain and some even as bad as a 30 inch surplus . Houston and San Antonio among them . IF this hurricane makes a direct hit(or even close to a direct hit) on Texas , there will be widespread disaster .

As a country , a people, and as Americans , we must not play Politics with disasters anymore . This is not a political blame game .

Do You Agree To Keep Politics Out Of Natural Disasters ?

BTW , Texans -- Tell us what you think too .

I'm bored, so I figured I would ask a question. Anyone can answer this, even though it is directed at the logic of some left wingers.

A lot of people ask "Why are we in Iraq". They see it as a useless cause, a waste of time, whatever it is anti-Iraq war people think. War is bad, negative.

Change of topic, a lot of people are worried about global warming, burning of fossil fuels, i.e. coal. which is bad, global warming

So my question about comparison is:
Iraq = Utah mine.

Innocent miners get killed in harsh conditions, just like innocent Iraqis get killed by radical islamic extremists. In other words, Trapped miners = Iraqi civilians.

Rescue team for miners in Utah = US soldiers trying to protect Iraqis from those Extremists.

So the question is, if people are always wanting to pull out of Iraq, does that mean those same people dont support the Mine Rescue mission?

For the sake of this discussion, I will assume that humans are not a factor in global warming.

Can you tell me why we should not have laws on the books limiting the amount of greenhouse gases anyway?

People often say that the earth's climate is too complex for us to understand. Then shouldn't we do our best to limit our effect on the environment? If don't understand what we are doing to the climate, wouldn't it be best to reduce our contribution of any particular type of gas to the atmosphere?

For example, what if we increased water in the atmosphere from <1% to 3%? Do you know what would happen?

Why don't we say that the composition of the Earth's atmosphere is x and human activity should not alter it by more than y%?

I just don't understand why people are seemingly in favor of polluting the environment. Pollute in this case meaning to make less pure.

Hi all, Now i by no means wish this to turn into a huge arguement but would like to see some honest intelligent answers.
First off let me say I am pro gun owership with proper rules, handling training, background checks etc. I believe that shooting is an excellent sport.

It is 20 years on from the tragedy that was the Hungerford massacre where a man walked down the street with an assault rifle shooting anyone he seen. My question is do you think if shooting was more accepted and encouraged he could have been stopped sooner? Or do you think it would have resulted in mass panic shooting. Also do you think if it was completly outlawed then as it pretty much is now the massacre would still have happened but only with something else such as a car or knives?

Do you think that gun owner ship should be allowed today in a country where only criminals have guns and good citizens do not.

Cheers,

He is believe to be fleeing to Mexico but being illegal has nothing to do with the crime ?
A 27-year-old Fredonia man on the run from charges in a fatal hit-and-run crash in Sheboygan County had been drinking for several hours prior to the Tuesday crash and is in the country illegally, according to a criminal complaint released this morning.

Eddie Carbajal-Lile, whose last known address is 220 Martin Lane, Apt. 2, is charged with hit and run resulting in death, a felony charge that carries penalties of up to 15 years in prison and a $100,000 fine.

Authorities say he ran a stop sign in the Town of Lima and hit a car with three teenagers inside, injuring two and killing Paul B. Watry, 17, of Port Washington.

Capt. Dave Adams of the Sheboygan County Sheriff’s Department said investigators believe Carbajal-Lile — an illegal immigrant — may attempt to flee the country. A warrant for his arrest was issued with the criminal complaint Thursday night.

Carbajal-Lile is alleged to have been the driver of a Nissan Sentra that ran a stop sign about 8:40 p.m. Tuesday while eastbound on county Highway V at state Highway 32. He struck a 1995 Chevrolet Cavalier driven by Scot Mueller, 18, of Port Washington, Adams said.

Mueller and passenger Jillian Fitzmaurice, 18, of Oostburg, were hospitalized after the crash but have since been released. Watry was declared dead at 2:30 p.m. at Froedtert Memorial Lutheran Hospital in Wauwatosa, with the cause of death listed as closed head trauma, the complaint said.

According to the complaint:

Witnesses said Carbajal-Lile walked away from the crash after retrieving his cell phone, and the complaint said he called a friend twice saying he had hit something and didn’t feel good.

That friend told police that he had been drinking with Carbajal-Lile and several other friends from 5:30 p.m. to sometime after 8 p.m. that night at Kim’s Five Corners Tavern & Eatery, N3701 Highway I, a little more than two miles from the crash site.

He said Carbajal-Lile had a total of five or six beers.

Detectives tracked down the friend through a credit card receipt after an anonymous caller reported five Hispanic males had been drinking at Kim’s tavern around the time of the crash.

Adams said Carbajal-Lile — whose aliases include Eddie Carbajal, Eddie Lile, Eddie Carbajal-Farvies, ***** Carbajal, ***** Carbajal-Lile and ***** Lile — now may be living in the Sheboygan area, though an anonymous tipster told investigators he may be trying to flee to Mexico.

They gloat on what occurred a couple hundred to a thousand years ago as if that point in time held some significance.

I ask why!~ why do we care about the "recent past", when time is dynamic- kinetic in nature(figuratively speaking)- ....like a rolling a ball on an uneven surface...WHO CARES if the ball moves to the left or stops in place for some time, the ball is traveling and it didnt start in the middle- why do they focus on ancesters of late?...is it because their science hasn't reveal the eons before, so they are ignorant to the true origins of mankind~ or even who they are or where they descend "Ultimately"- if ultimately could be determined with any certain amount of accuracy?.

I think it is racism!~ every race is ethnocentric to some degree, I think it is natural for people to feel threatened by people foreign to their own, people always fear the unknown and this is just another example in action(current events).

If Joe Biden is not on the ticket Pres. or VP in 2008, then I will vote for Rudy Gulliani if he's the Republican nominee. Same with Dennis Kucnich. If Kuchinich is not VP.

I like Guilliani. I like his independent thought. That's what sets him apart from all the other candidates on both sides.

I have lost 2 of my sons from the same father . I have my suspicions about my children's grandparents. I have this feeling that the grandparents had Life insurance policies on my sons. Help me find out. My second son died at 7yrs old in 2000 and my oldest Son died at 14yrs old while visiting his grandparents the ones I suspect in 2005. Since the cause of death for my 7 yr old was never founded and the manner that my oldest son died while in their care I have alot of unanswered questions. Not even the grandparents were willing to answer what even took place the day my son died . There just is alot of questions that I will probably never know but if I could find out if there were life insurance policies then my gut feelings of what i think happened to my sons may have been done for racial beliefs of the grandparents( who idolized Hitler) with a greed for money. My sons were have white/Hispanic. This may sound crazy but if you knew me you would not think so.

Well, I always wanted to be an officer in the SEALs. I was planning on trying to get accepted into USNA. But I am reading around that officers only have one shot at BUD/S and enlisted have more. Officers also have the instructors eye on them at all times. Is it a safer bet to go through BUD/S enlisted and then go to OCS?

Ted Kennedy was asked last Month if he remembers EVER a President that was so Bashed by the opposing party..he said honestly no. People that have gone wayyy off the scale Bashing this President must realize that the Dems have a 50% chance to win in 08...don't they know millions are just waiting for revenge against the man or woman that wins. These people haven't attacked a President...they have lowered the "OFFICE" of the President. When Miceal Moore was confronted by Barbra Bush at the republican national convention and she walked up to him and said: you should be ashamed of yourself young man for lying about my son...Moore smuggly said: it's just politics lady! We never bashed Clinton 10% of what Bush has endured from you. YES..it's a free country and YES you can say what you want..YES I know you hate the war and every policy Bush has endorsed...I really hope your proud of yourselfs..remember Dems rulke congress and you might win in 08....Holy Hell is about to RAIN down on you

The Ship legislation that is currently up for renewal has been re-writen to make sure all Illegal Aliens benefit from the law abiding and working US citizens. This program was originally suposed to give Health care coverage for children of families too poor to pay for it themselves. But as with any government program that is "For the Children" the socialist in congress have added a ton of welfare boondogles to this legislation. Some additional details: This program will change the coverage to include all families making up to $80,000, all children up to age 25 and all illegals, since they have more right to our tax dollars than those who actually obay the law and earn that money. Contact your congressional rep topday and say no to Illegal Imigration welfare and no to the ships program!!
