Well, I always wanted to be an officer in the SEALs. I was planning on trying to get accepted into USNA. But I am reading around that officers only have one shot at BUD/S and enlisted have more. Officers also have the instructors eye on them at all times. Is it a safer bet to go through BUD/S enlisted and then go to OCS?

Hey, all you pessimistic guys,

1. I am confident I WILL pass, I don't give a crap about 80 percent drop out rates, I'll do the best I can and then some, so don't give me that crap. Confidence is key.

2. Why aren't I working out? Do you stalk me? How do you know I don't run everyday, play sports on school teams every season, and I limit my time on the computer for beneficial research. Thank you very much.

I am not planning on failing, but it is always good to be persistent if my plan fails, and to have a back up one. I have thought out my future thoroughly, so don't judge me.

First of all I would not listen to the nay sayers. I highly doubt any of them are military much less seals. Secondly I can tell you having been in the military for 8 years and being both enlisted and officer your chances are actually better on the officer side. Statically there are far more enlisted in the ranks of the seals being as most operators are enlisted. That being said officers are given greater freedom to pursue their career progression. In other words you have more say on where you go and what you do. Your best chances are if you go to the academy. They are often fast tracked.

something could happen that is entirely out of your control.. you could be injured or become ill.

Not everyone who applies is accepted to OCS. Not everyone who goes to OCS gets their first choice of Community. hardly anyone who attends BUD/s passes.

First you have to complete the SEAL Challenge to even be recommended for the program. Then you actually have to pass. and even the people with the greatest drive don't always make it.

You must decide which you want most. would you be happy being a Navy Officer if you couldn't get a SEAL Contract or failed BUD/s? Would you be okay with being enlisted for the same reasons? What if your degree is not completive for a slot at OCS? then what?

That is not true. Everyone has the same number of chnaces at BUD/S. You can enter as an officer after OCS or can take the PRT during basic and enter into BUD/S then take a commision. It is true that the instructors will be watching you as an office, as you are expected to be a leader. either way, good luck, stay positive, and always pay attention to detail.

go through the regular process of becoming an officer, the naval academy is a good plan. apply for BUD/S and give it your best shot. if it doesnt pan out you are still in the officer corps and you would still havy many options.

I gut reaction once I first study this question replaced into to declare that faith isn't the pathway to reality, Jesus is. I understand that answer could be to forget approximately correct to the bigger question of why do i believe that Jesus is the single genuine God mutually as Muslims have the two reliable ideals that Allah is God. the subject I even have answering this question lies in the shown fact that i did not start up my adventure searching for ideal reality or God or Jesus or faith or the rest. it began with God attaining all the way down to me. with the aid of fact that i believe my own reports have been actual and from Jesus that's the reason i believe in Him to the exclusion of different deities. I even have not seen my faith with the aid of fact the suited info of Jesus with the aid of fact the only way, in spite of the undeniable fact that it works for me.
