A 27-year-old Fredonia man on the run from charges in a fatal hit-and-run crash in Sheboygan County had been drinking for several hours prior to the Tuesday crash and is in the country illegally, according to a criminal complaint released this morning.


Eddie Carbajal-Lile, whose last known address is 220 Martin Lane, Apt. 2, is charged with hit and run resulting in death, a felony charge that carries penalties of up to 15 years in prison and a $100,000 fine.

Authorities say he ran a stop sign in the Town of Lima and hit a car with three teenagers inside, injuring two and killing Paul B. Watry, 17, of Port Washington.

Capt. Dave Adams of the Sheboygan County Sheriff’s Department said investigators believe Carbajal-Lile — an illegal immigrant — may attempt to flee the country. A warrant for his arrest was issued with the criminal complaint Thursday night.

Carbajal-Lile is alleged to have been the driver of a Nissan Sentra that ran a stop sign about 8:40 p.m. Tuesday while eastbound on county Highway V at state Highway 32. He struck a 1995 Chevrolet Cavalier driven by Scot Mueller, 18, of Port Washington, Adams said.

Mueller and passenger Jillian Fitzmaurice, 18, of Oostburg, were hospitalized after the crash but have since been released. Watry was declared dead at 2:30 p.m. at Froedtert Memorial Lutheran Hospital in Wauwatosa, with the cause of death listed as closed head trauma, the complaint said.


According to the complaint:

Witnesses said Carbajal-Lile walked away from the crash after retrieving his cell phone, and the complaint said he called a friend twice saying he had hit something and didn’t feel good.

That friend told police that he had been drinking with Carbajal-Lile and several other friends from 5:30 p.m. to sometime after 8 p.m. that night at Kim’s Five Corners Tavern & Eatery, N3701 Highway I, a little more than two miles from the crash site.

He said Carbajal-Lile had a total of five or six beers.

Detectives tracked down the friend through a credit card receipt after an anonymous caller reported five Hispanic males had been drinking at Kim’s tavern around the time of the crash.

Adams said Carbajal-Lile — whose aliases include Eddie Carbajal, Eddie Lile, Eddie Carbajal-Farvies, ***** Carbajal, ***** Carbajal-Lile and ***** Lile — now may be living in the Sheboygan area, though an anonymous tipster told investigators he may be trying to flee to Mexico.

This is yet another story of evidence with the lack of funding our own states are suffering for crap just like this. Enforcing DUI criminals and enforcing the border.

The crime, being committed by an illegal alien, is worst than a DUI committed by a citizen. They come here and suck the fruits out of our haven and burden us with their dung and leave when they wrong us. This has happened quiet a few times as I have had MANY friends get into wrongful car accidents resulting in a runaway car driven by an illegal alien.

Suppose a sex offender that was NOT A STUDENT went inside a school and raped and killed a student. This person had been hanging out in the school for months, according to other students. Everybody knew he was there, even the other teachers.

The question is would this student still be alive today if this person was not in the school?

The "common sense" answer is YES!!!!

Outraged parents, especially the parent of the girl killed would DEMAND to know why this person was allowed to hang out in the school.

Yes, it is possible that other students or teachers could have done the same thing, as a matter of fact, it does happen.

But that's NOT WHAT HAPPENED. An unauthorized person was in the school and killed a student.

Would you try to tell the parents the same nonsense you are spouting here?? Well, students or teachers could have done the same thing, it happens all the time. Why are you picking on the unauthorized person? Because it was a needless loss. If the school enforced its rules, that girl WOULD be alive today.

I am angry. I am far more angry of the system then Oveida though. The problem is that too many people out there give people like Oveida a second chance, and a third and a fourth. He shouldn't be here, He shouldn't be driving and **** he shouldn't be driving drunk. After that he should be labeled a danger to society and his deportation should be expedited. What worse, he's a repeat offender. If you don't have a reliable driver's license, the police need to hold them until immigration is determined. TO S and Maxmom, the problem is worse than an American drunk driver. THe guy should not be driving period. Most states don't allow driver's license for illegals. And with American Drunk drivers, we can't kick out those idiots, THe law allows us to kick out illegal immigrants who drunk drive. Illegal WHo drunk drive already broke 3 laws while Americans who drive drunk broke one. We need to pull all their cards, but it's inexcusable for illegals who continue to break our laws to stay!!!!

If the government had done it's job, or been allowed to do it's job, a teenage boy would be alive today. This is another example of how some illegals behave when they are in the country. They broke the law to get into the country, what so what is stopping them from breaking our other laws. He should be tried for vehicular homicide, DUI, and sent back to wherever he came from. If he tries to come back into the country, he is jailed. He has no rights here as an illegal immigrant, only the right as a human being that he be treated in a humane manor as he is being escorted to the border.

I personally am talking about this case. If this illegal wasn't here, this accident does not happen. The fact is if this were an American citizen he should be jailed as well, with the maximum sentence. The difference is and American does have rights under the constitution to a trial by jury of his peers, then he suffers the consequences of his actions.

Well 1st thing I'd do is to see if the local government had issued a "sanctuary" order. If they did I'd sue them and they'd lose.

The Feds keep intervening when locals pass laws outlawing illegals exerting Federal Rights. That makes the case prima facia against a "sanctuary city". The Feds have made it unwittingly cut both ways in their zeal to stop immigration enforcement.

Then I'd make sure he got the electric chair.

I would feel sad. What's the difference?
If an illegal immigrant, a legal immigrant, or an American do those crimes, I would still feel sad.
your point is. . . . . ? That's a drinking and driving issue, we need to educate people about this problem, we got Paris Hilton, Lindsey L all doing the same thing, but they are lucky nobody got hurt. They could have, so I think this issue need to be put out there so people can understand that you should never drink and drive.
