I'm a former Marine wanting to re-enlist in the Army Reserve or Guard. The initial phone interview with the Army said there was a waiver for Kidney Donation. Now the recruiter said no, only for active military. Has anyone heard of the waiver, shared this experience? I know that there are active military with one kidney. Just wanting to know any information on this. Thanks.

I keep seeing lots of posts from people (granted, many of whom are trolls) that keep asking questions I'd like to answer. Such as questions about why people are presenting a particular argument, or how people can justify a particular position.

But I'm blocked from doing so -- and probably so are lots of other people. Which means the questions are being asked, but nobody is allowed to answer who might disagree with the poster.

Doesn't this defeat the entire purpose of Yahoo! Answers, which is to get and share information? Isn't it counter-productive to allow people to post questions, but only allow the people who agree with them to answer?

Are you happy being in democratic society and Why? Or is it all bullshit to make some people to excuse.

I hear many people say that we need welfare systems and socialistic ideas (Universal Healthcare) for the good of society....

Do those same people support personal responsibility as well? Do they support the idea that people are responsible for their actions?

Honest question, why can there be no intelligent debate right now? How come extending tours of duty is the patriotic thing? We're losing too many good guys. Honor their sacrafice, but keep em out of harms way whenever possible.

Is it as bad as a civilian claiming to be a war hero, (but never served a day in the Military)
Such as a retired servicemember claiming heroism and wearing medal for which they do not rate? Claiming to have been deployed to Iraq (and PTSD), but actually they never left the CONUS?

FISA is based upon a Supreme Court ruling in 1972.

In March 2006 a hearing was held that was called "Wartime Executive Powers and the FISA Court"

The most famous FISA Judge Allan Kornblum (also a constitutional expert) said: " The Supreme Court said that the Fourth Amendment was highly flexible, and that the standard for criminal, what they call ordinary crimes, what I would call traditional law enforcement, need not be the same as that for foreign intelligence collection, and that different standards for different Government purposes are compatible with the Fourth Amendment."

"As you know, in Article I, section 8, Congress has enumerated powers as well as the power to legislate all enactments necessary and proper to their specific authorities, and I believe that is what the President has, similar authority to take executive action necessary and proper to carry out his enumerated responsibilities of which today we are only talking about surveillance of Americans."

My uncle bought some photos of a famous baseball player who has long since past away (baby pictures, baseball related pictures) at a state auction this past weekend. He plans to take them to be appraised and then to resell them and wants to know whether the copyright belongs to him since he paid for them. He doesn't want others to use the pictures for their own gain, I guess, while they're in his possession, or to put them up on the Internet.

Thanks!

I know what you are thinking ("no you shouldn't become a criminal") but the probablity of going to prison is actually very slim (only 50% of crimes are reported, only 50% of those do the police ever catch anybody, in only 30% of those cases is there enough evidence to go to court, and 95% of those cases are dealt with at the magistrates court (or US equivilent) which usually results in a small fine or being found not guilty) and those that do get caught are usually idiots, (i'm sure i could 'get away with it' unless i was caught red handed) and the crimes i am thinking of taking up are, burglery, fraud or drug dealing. i would like to be a nice criminal and not hurt anyone or only steal from those who deserve it, that way i could hopefully live with myself.
