How did it come to the world and by whom and what are the purposes?

Are you happy being in democratic society and Why? Or is it all bullshit to make some people to excuse.

It refers to any of several political models where the ultimate political power is held by the population.

You can have pure (polyarchal) democracy, where everyone votes directly. Or you can have a representative system (like a republic), where people vote for leaders and leaders make decisions.

But at its heart -- democracy is might-makes-right majority (mob) rule, where whoever has more people gets to make the decisions for everyone.

I think the idea for democracy came from Democritus (greek philospher). The idea is government of the people or the will of the people. There are different forms of democracy. One form is direct democracy, which is where people would vote directly for all legislation. Others would be voting for a representative to represent a certain area.

I agree with Madison when he referred democracy as the tyranny of the majority. The founding fathers were highly smart to make this country a republic.
