I don't understand if Canada can do it then why can't the USA do it, it's not like we don't have the same resouces. I have a sneaking suspition that it's a government thing, maybe they would loose all of their kick back from the pharmceutical companies, I don't know. Just thought I would lay this question out there to read some others opinions.

Amid a growing barrage of front-page headlines, U.S. embassy officials "strongly suggested" President Bush's twin daughters, Jenna and Barbara Bush, cut short their trip to Buenos Aires because of security issues, U.S. diplomatic and security sources tell ABC News.

Stories of the twins' visit took on wild proportions in the Argentinean press. One tabloid headline had the young women running nude in the hallway of their hotel, a report the hotel staff denied to ABC News.

According to sources, the U.S. embassy encouraged the two girls to cut their stay short because the added attention was making their security very difficult. But to the dismay and anger of some U.S. embassy and security staff, the girls stayed on.

Thursday night, an ABC News producer was able to walk into their hotel unchecked and engage Barbara Bush in conversation while she checked her e-mail on a computer in the lobby. Jenna sat talking with friends on a sofa nearby. No Secret Service agents were anywhere to be seen in the lobby, according to ABC News' Joe Goldman.

how would this work?

My idea:

Round up about a million hard core US conservatives & libs, including many from US Govt & anyone who attends each parties convention this year, & send them all to Iraq to fight in the war on terror.

This will solve a number of problems:

1) The US military needs about a million new US troops on the ground in Iraq to win that war & defeat Al Qaeda.

2) A person tends not to argue with their fellow soldier/Marine when caught in a massive fire fight.

3) In the military you have no choice but to work together w/ other troops no matter who they are because your life depends on everyone working together to kill the enemy & keep as many of your own alive.

4) Once you've been to war (if they survive) most of your fellow troops become your brothers for the rest of your life.

5) So either libs & conservatives would learn to live & fight/work together in Iraq or they would die. Either way it would only make the US/US Govt a better place.

.
everywhere I look I keep seeing more and more articles about Iran wanting to 'push Israel into the sea,' or before that other articles that basically told us that Iran wanted Israel to disappear from the face of the earth!
Well first, Jewish people are situate all over the world! Most of us here in the United States don't even know who is Jewish and who is not. Nobody is going to rid Israel of its people and no one is going to rid the world of Jewish people.
And that includes Iran.
And I am beginning to doubt that Iran made such threats in the first place.
I don't know who is stoking the fires, but the flame is about to dissipate.

Let's say that President Bush simply but honestly for once said that it is necessary for the U.S. to have control of the oil of the Iraq or any other country for that matter.

Would that be OK with you?

McCain's campaign seems almost hopeless at this point. He doesn't have a clear position on anything. Staffers have left him. And he's short on cash.

Does he still have a chance? What should he do?

One of the main problems that Bush/US military are having in Iraq is they don't have nearly enough US troops to win. They've got enough for a good stalemate but they need about 300,000 extra troops to actually win.

Since most of the US military is made up of poor Americans, they don't need to be drafted, but I know their are plenty of wealthier patriotic American dying to get the chance to serve their country. Or might wealthier Americans think that winning the war on terror isn't worth risking their lives?
