everywhere I look I keep seeing more and more articles about Iran wanting to 'push Israel into the sea,' or before that other articles that basically told us that Iran wanted Israel to disappear from the face of the earth!
Well first, Jewish people are situate all over the world! Most of us here in the United States don't even know who is Jewish and who is not. Nobody is going to rid Israel of its people and no one is going to rid the world of Jewish people.
And that includes Iran.
And I am beginning to doubt that Iran made such threats in the first place.
I don't know who is stoking the fires, but the flame is about to dissipate.

well Johnny
I can't imagine what Israel is sayig behind closed doors about Iran! They both can't stand each other!
besides, you didn't HEAR anything Ahmadinejad said OTHER THAN a translation. And translations mean nothing anymore because there are so few you can trust.

That just it JB. THe tranmslationm done by the US is incorrect. There are many sites that address this. There is mch lying being done, by EVERY country. That does NOT exclude us. I hope the next president is at least that. Honest. But perhaps that is merely a pipe dream.God help us ALL.

"Nobody is going to rid Israel of its people and no one is going to rid the world of Jewish people. "

Of course not. Since anyone, including Iran, would be very foolish to try.

But that is not the point. You think the president of Iran made one simple speech about Israel? That he has never revisited the subject?

And if that was the only speech he made, please explain to me this: Even if we believe your REVISIONIST version of what he was trying to say, then explain how he is supposed to achieve such goals WITHOUT using military force and mass deportation or extermination of Jews in Israel?

And by the way, the transation was not only done the the US (what do you mean, the US govnerment?).

Here is a statement from Reuters (a non governmental news agency):

"We actually had access to this speech, and heard the president’s words verbatim from our own TV footage. We stand behind our translation. In this case, he used the word “mahv,” which in Farsi means “wiped off”: Editor"

It's been going on for a long, long time. It's sad, but true. I'm sorry. I'm Jewish (heritage) too and I know it sucks to know some people hate us just because of that. Especially because Jews haven't really been on the offense in terms of wanting others to hurt, and forcing our beliefs on others. Israel has the upper hand though, because of the nukes. I don't think there will be a repeat of the holocaust.

How would we feel if another country came and told us what we could and couldn't do for our citizens?Think about it.As far as the comment about Israel i saw a piece on democracy now where he said he wanted to wipe Isreal off the map because he thought it didn't belong there amid a group of muslim states but i never heard him say rid the world of jewish people. What would we do without Seinfeld?

The President of Iran (Ahmadinejad) has made such statements -- primarily because he knows they get people riled up and emotional.

It's called baiting your audience. He likes to see people frothing at the mouth angry, because they makes them think less. I seriously doubt he really believes it's possible -- but it makes for great political grandstanding.

He's gambling that the froth and anger won't reach a critical point and explode in his face.

I agree. Jews were in Iran for the last several thousand years and there are no conflicts. If you want to watch some films on the israel palestine issue for free, you might want to go to freedocumentaries.org

Ahmadinejad said it, meant it, and will forever more be watched like the worthless trash that he is !

The liberal media has certainly done it's part in keeping this story alive, and you certainly sound like a liberal, to me.

I believe this nonsense the same way I believe the Pentagon when it says that Iran is sending arms, munitions, insurgents to Iraq, Afghanistan, Hezbollah, Hamas, and any other carpet muncher you can think of.

You won't gain much ground with your foolish propaganda on this blog, perhaps a liberal newspaper would buy your nonsense !

I have heard it with my own ears from Achmadinijhad myself. He led a chant of "death to Israel, death to America!". It was aired on "The Glenn Beck Show" some months ago........besides, what do you think they have been fighting about for hundreds of years in the middle east anyway??

What Al Kracken doesnt understand or is ignorant of is this.....the pres of Iran is not afraid of dying......none of the militant Islamists are. If he got nuclear warfare capabilities....he would not hesitate in using them on Israel.

I don't. But alot of rabble-rousers are not very happy these days with the way the Iraq situation has gone. And now that it looks more and MORE likely- that Clinton is going to get into Office next Election, they need a NEW "bug-a-boo" to gnash their teeth about... Such is the "way"- with Losers...
