My idea:

Round up about a million hard core US conservatives & libs, including many from US Govt & anyone who attends each parties convention this year, & send them all to Iraq to fight in the war on terror.

This will solve a number of problems:

1) The US military needs about a million new US troops on the ground in Iraq to win that war & defeat Al Qaeda.

2) A person tends not to argue with their fellow soldier/Marine when caught in a massive fire fight.

3) In the military you have no choice but to work together w/ other troops no matter who they are because your life depends on everyone working together to kill the enemy & keep as many of your own alive.

4) Once you've been to war (if they survive) most of your fellow troops become your brothers for the rest of your life.

5) So either libs & conservatives would learn to live & fight/work together in Iraq or they would die. Either way it would only make the US/US Govt a better place.

I'd start more simply -- and I would have to require it to be a voluntary process (no "rounding up") because I refuse to compel anyone against their will.

Make then speak for one month without referring to any group of people -- they can only talk about individuals.

Then, whenever an issue is being discussed, they can only refer to the issue -- not the person speaking. And at least 50% of the time, they have to propose a solution, not a criticism.

This helps people to stop generalizing, and actually focus on resolving problems, rather than perpetuating them.

It may not work, but it would be a start.

This has already handed off two times! the 1st time all of us jumped in and kicked tail. That replaced into while Japan hit Pearl Harbor. The final time replaced into while the twin Towers fell. We have been all waiting to leap in as we did in 1941 and kick tail back, and then a gaggle of lilly livered libs all started crying approximately how the conflict replaced into going and we've been dropping too many, and now they cry by using fact some rag heads are dying. i'm an autonomous yet This time i'm vote casting in general Republican, by using fact i opt for to ascertain the U.S. stay unfastened. If the conflict does come back over i'm waiting. My weapons are loaded and sighted in, my knives are sharp and as a former U.S. Marine i'm primed and arranged. SEMPER FI!

When we, the public, no longer tolerate political bigotry amongst each other, then the representatives will no longer see it as a way to get your vote. Start here.

In Yahoo! Answers.

Don't do it. Speak up when you see it, even when it is someone from your own party.

I've been called, "Republican" and, "Conservative" so many times that I have to double check my registration card to be sure I'm still a Democratic party member!

During President Clinton's terms at least the Republicans I spoke up against being seditious and childish were accurate in calling me, "Democrat"!

I honestly believe that most intelligent Americans are libertarians without knowing it. If these will-intentioned latent libertarians would take the time to learn what a libertarian is, so much of the confusion and resentment that occurs between Democrats and Republicans would be significantly diminished and they would find that many of the best aspects of both parties CAN coexist under one roof.

Remove the strange chemical from the Bush supporter's drinking water that makes them think they're conservative when they are actually anti-constitutional radicals.

Once the chemical leaves their systems, they'll experience momentary dis-orientation, but then they might find that being good to people other than the filthy rich is actually spiritually rewarding.

Changing human nature is the only solution--which is to say there probably is no solution. The partisan's way of convincing himself he is right is to demonize everyone who disagrees. It's how the human mind works. Us against them.

yes, except there's still one blazing problem: we shouldn't still be in iraq. we continue to make ours and their problems worse each day we're there.

Box all of the Libs in a small room and take away abortions. Eventually, the room will implode.
