Comprehensive immigration reform. For the ones already here a fine for crossing over the border without papers. Back ground checks and then a resident alien card, not immediate citizenship but a chance to work towards it. Close the border so this does not keep happening.

A visa means that you followed the law and yes it would change things, I seriously doubt amnesty will ever happen again but I do believe that a middle ground can be found to deal with this situation. One that does not put illegal immigrants in front of those who choose the legal route.

I think that those waiting patiently for a legal migration would and should be first! How many of the illegals would fail the qualifications to be here? Felonies, sex crimes, etc. A little less demanding and a lot more of being nice would go a long way, not burning our flag and not being openly hostile would be nice, too. We don't expect humble just civility! After all money is only paper, too but you'd be lost without it, huh?

I will be happy when there is a FAIR solution. I think we need to get violent offenders out of here, but, the average person that is bettering their family by being here and is not posing any threat to us should be allowed to stay here. We are a country of immigrants, and, it is obnoxiously hypocritical to be trying to ammend the constitution and change lady liberty's message...

I'll go the moderate route.
We need immigration reform.
We need to enforce the laws currently on the books.
We need to deport all illegals convicted of crimes in court.
You talk about pieces of paper.
Words spoken blow away in the wind..
Don't believe that?
Listen to a politician sometime.
Words on paper tend to come back and bite liars right on the butt...they don't blow away.

Great question.

they will never be happy. too bad for anti-illegals, no one will be required to go back to their home country to be legalized here in the US. and all illegals won't be deported, it's just a fact.

That piece of paper is like a ticket on a cruise ship. Evidence that you paid for and have a right to take the space, food and services provided. It isn't just a piece of paper.

Chill already. Immigraton is what this country has been all about for the last two hundred years - just do it legally. Like the rest of us had to do.

Fair?

Deport them all, seal the borders, and let the ones with merit patiently wait their turn with all the other people trying to enter this country LEGALLY.

What many people seem to forget(because they let emotions get in the way) is that the LAW was broken. Go back and return legally like everyone else has to.
