Thank you Jim, for serving. I was against the initial invasion, and am opposed to the current policy. I served any way when I asked if I wanted to volunteer to go to Iraq, when I was in the Arkansas Army National Guard. I served as a medical NCO. I have a total of 23 years in the military and was recently retired out. Thank you for your service. It is greatly appreciated, by myself and others, no matter if you are for or against he war in Iraq.

Because only the masses volunteer to fight in the military. As per Michael Moore's movie, during the height of popularity in the Iraq war, no children of Congress was dumb enough to be there. If we demanded that the offspring of our leaders took the same risk as the masses, then this absurdity would have ended years ago.

One of the things that's concerned me about this war is that Bush isn't asking ANYTHING of the American citizens--the military, yes, but otherwise? When a reporter asked him about this, he actually said he thinks the sacrifice the Americans (and he and Laura) make is the fact that we see upsetting things on the news.
If the country were behind the war, we'd be more involved, like in WW2 with scrap drives and war-bond sales. But we aren't even asked to use less oil. Instead, we're told after 9/11 that going back to the shopping malls is how we'll show our patriotism.

while you have been busy busting each and every of the economic fraud that started out on Clinton's watch, including Enron, Worldcomm, Andersen Accounting, and each of something, why did no longer you politicize it and instruct what sleazy slimeballs the Democrats are, and bill Clinton in specific, for permitting economic fraud to run rampant on his watch?

I don't think he's publicly asked anyone to join. I supported the Iraq war so I joined the Army.

As long as they are maing under six figures he will ask anybody. Its funny when you see the salary of an oil worker in the region vs the salary of the soldier protecting them from harms way. Its disgusting.

Better question: why don't liberals give away all their money, live in small shacks without electrical power, give up their cars and jets, use less than 1 gallon of water per day, etc?

Why don't you check your typing before submitting your lame questions?
It's an all volunteer military and he doesn't need to ask anyone. There is a waiting list to join up not that you coward Neo-Libs would care.
