f-1 student visas?

Question

hi my friend got his f-1 visa in this spring but his school school suspend him for fall 2007 semester for his lower GPA.(and his visa continued until 20011).he is a undergraduate student.
my question is
1) when he is staying in the U.S is he count as out of status(but he will come back to studies in spring 2008)
2)will he face any kind of deportation?
3)if he wants to leave from the US at that time will the DHS catch him at the airport?

The status of your friend is not affected by the lower grades. Thus, he can still stay in the country or leave and return for the next semester.
