Can anyone give me breakdown of what it takes to become a christan psychologist? please answer
I would like to go to EU (Evangel University). The only thing i know about it is it takes like 8 years to become a psychologist. I need to know how many credits i need and how many hours i need to take a semester. How many semesters are there in college. How many hour i need to know everything. how much do you think it will cost to go to Evangel all together. what classes do i need to take. note: i asked my parents all this and they didnt know much. What do you think would be cheaper living in a dorm or an apartment. also give me the breakdown on what i need. like do i need to get my phd or masters or what thanks!

The requirements for being a licensed psychologist vary by state, but are generally either a masters or PhD (or other doctorate, like a PsyD) plus internship after graduation.

I don't know of any state that licenses psychologists based on religion -- but you can get a separate license as a pastoral counselor in some states based on a religious graduate degree (masters in theology, or doctorate of divinity) -- but that's a separate licensure process.

As for the whole program -- you go through your bachelors degree (usually 4 years) than apply to graduate schools -- each graduate school has different requirements for their degree program.

You would be better to stay away from becoming a christian psychologist. Succesful Pshychology is a whole other study program and should stay away from the confusion of the Bible. Good luck. I am a Forgive Affirmed Spirit Healing be unto you

A mental breakdown should suffice. Both religion and psychology have done enough damage to our social institutions. Do we really need to blend them together and make things worse?
