What do you believe? I'm really interested to see what people think about any significant topic. Whether its right or wrong to torture, the death penalty, church and state, racism, gay marriage, abortion, free speech, data piracy, war, the right to bear arms, socialized medicine, suspension of habeas corpus, federal wire tapping, and anything at all; I want your opinions and your views, no matter how controversial. Support your beliefs with reasoned arguments if you choose to, but if you feel you don't need to support your beliefs, then that's fine as well. Just please tell me what you think.

I am trying to become educated on the Democratic candidates for the next election, and I watched the recently-aired debate between them. I figure Obama, Clinton and maybe Edwards will be the ones who make it to the end, and so I'm wondering, what are the core differences between them (besides the fact that one's black, one's a woman and one paid $400 for a haircut)?

Two thugs walk up to a car stopped at a stop sign and drag the women driver out. They throw her to the ground. In the back seat is the women’s 15-month-old son, she tries to get her son out. The car jackers pull out and she is tangled in the seat belt, to get her off, they sideswipe fences and poles until she is finally knocked loose. She dies. They see the child and the passenger releases the seat and drops the seat and child both out the window of the speeding car, the child is rescued by a passing motorist who sees this happen. Found guilty they each get 20 to life in a air conditioned prison, with their workout room, basketball facility, paid healthcare, and dental. The have cable, and three meals a day. A system is set up where they can have free higher education, and a free legal system to pay for appeal after appeal, Worst case they can try for parole after 15 years. The lady’s father moves to another state, stating, how can it be fair for me through my income tax to pay for these two butchers upkeep and care, after they murdered my daughter and tried to kill my grandson. Now who is receiving the unfair treatment? This actually did occur I knew the man and his family.

Are you a frightened Republican lemming?

I have noticed there is some confusion as to why Al-Qaeda has chosen to put much more emphasis on Iraq and only exerts minimal attention to supporting the Taliban in Afghanistan.
Many Americans have suggested we should just focus on Afghanistan, because AQ wouldn't be in Iraq if we weren't. Could this be true or are there bigger reasons why they travel so much further to Iraq where we are stronger?
I have examined this in my latest article: "The Abbasid Caliphate: Al-Qaeda in Iraq."

If you are willing to look into the minds of the serial killers we call our enemy. If you are willing to accept the truth.

Or if you just want to see our wars, through the eyes of a combat veteran that has been to both fronts of this war on terror, unpoliticized, objective and backed by indepedent research, read my blog:

They stand with their noses up in the air and declare if you're poor is because you are lazy.

Their philosophy (for most of them it seems) seem to be:

Rich people (like Bush and Paris Hilton) are rich because they are hard workers and poor people (including poor children working 12 hour days in dangerous sweat shop conditions in third world countries) are poor because they are lazy.

I just don't buy it.

We are the products of our choices (((AND))) our environment. People just don't all start at the same starting line. Some people (because of the environment they were born into) have to work harder to suceed.

Many Western and European political leaders have come dangerously close to deciding that little Israel is the "thorn in the side" of world order. Their logic goes something like "Who needs Israel? Let her be erased, her people dispersed (or whatever), and the Middle East can settle comfortably into a harmonious Islamic community of states. Problem solved!"

Israel, the 100th smallest country, with less than 1/1000th of the world's population, can make claim to an astounding number of society's advances in almost every direction. Israel leads the world in the number of scientists and technicians in the workforce, with 145 per 10,000

Israeli researchers have:

-Invented (VoIP) technology
-Discovered the molecular trigger that causes psoriasis
-Developed Ex-Press shunt to provide relief for glaucoma sufferers
-Unveiled a blood test that diagnoses heart attacks . . . by telephone!
-Developed the first fully computerized, no-radiation, diagnostic instrumentation for breast cancer
-Designed the first flight system to protect passenger and freighter aircraft against missile attack
-Developed the first ingestible video camera, so small it fits inside a pill — enabling doctors to diagnose cancer and digestive disorders

These are only a few of Israel's recent contributions to the welfare of the world. There are just too many to list here. Water shortage, global warming, space travel, anti-virus, anti-smallpox, blood pressure, solar power, paralysis, diabetes, data storage — these and hundreds more — are being addressed by her scientists.

They're pioneering in DNA research, using tiny strands to create human transistors that can literally build themselves — and playing an important role in identifying a defective gene that causes a rare and usually fatal disease in Arab infants!

Who needs Israel? Let's be honest. We all do.

Or would they categorically dismiss the possibility cause they're already so stuck on blaming it on us ?

Whatever happened to the fear of the "New World Order" and 1984 scenario?

When Clinton was president, it was the in thing to believe in for anti-government right-wingers like Timothy McVeigh and Terry Nichols. They believed it was all part of the socialist "New World Order" and that Clinton had death squads out assasinating people.

In the "Protection Racket" You first offer the mark protection from harm. If he refuses to pay for your "Protection" you arrange a small sample of what life without "Protection" is like. Usually the mark is then willing to pay. You never harm a paying mark unless they refuse to pay. You will not see another terrorist attack as long as the Republicans control the White House.

In the last year or so, I've heard the left complaining about threats on free speech, warantless searches & wiretaps, the Patriot Act, etc...

And I hear the right complaining that their gun rights are under attack, they realize that 75% of the federal spending we're being taxed for goes to unconstitutional activity, and even worries about free speech related to the 'fairness doctrine.'

So, my question is, does anyone support the WHOLE constitution?

And, why do people who do not care for half of whats in there use it to defend their 'right' to the other half?

And ultimately, why is anyone surprised that our politicians pay no attention to the ultimate law of the land, when we sit here arguing amongst ourselves about how to destroy it, desecrate it?

with a huge knife comes around the corner, locks eyes with you, screams obscenities, praises Allah, raises his knife, & charges at you.
You respond by the posing the following questions:

Does the man look poor? Or oppressed?

Have I ever done anything to him that would inspire him to attack?

Could we run away?

What does my wife think?

Could I call the U.N and ask Nelson Mandela for help?

What does the law say about this situation?

Is it possible he'd be happy with just killing me?

Does he definitely want to kill me, or would he be content just to wound me?

If I were to grab his knees and hold on, could my family get away while he was stabbing me?

Should I call 9-1-1, Hillary, or France ?

We need to raise taxes, have a paint and weed day, and make this a happier, and make this a happier, healthier street that would discourage such behavior.

WHAT ARE YOU??????
