I've been trying to get everyone to see this. How do all of you like your hard earned dollars going towards this? Pisses me off. It also indicates we are NEVER leaving. I think we need to make peace with this idea or raise our voices.

I think the only thing this proves is that the US is never going to leave Iraq. Just look at Germany after WWII. Ramstein Airf Force Base has been there since I can remember. As for the oil, Im not sure i'll be jumping on that train just yet.

Should we not have an embassy in other countries? Other countries have embassies in our country are they asholes?

I would say $600m is not alot of money considering construction and materials costs and the hi-tech equipment that needs to go into an embassy. The Embassy in Malta cost $80m. Malta doesn't have the same strategic importance that Iraq does by light years, but we spent $80m.

Yeah its a lot of money but considering the strategic importance of Iraq in the fight against oppressive Islam I don't see how its excessive.

Considering that's going to have to be the most secure building on the planet, I'd say the cost is about right.

What's the point? Some suicide bomber is just going to blow it to pieces or plant a car bomb outside of it.
