I know this is old news but I was just thinking how paranoid of a statement this is.

Sadly enough, she too had to play the race card. Anyone of any color in a bad neighborhood is at risk of being shot at the gas station. I highly doubt though that the Obama's live in that kind of neighborhood or even visit one. Poor pitiful Michelle, just had to play that same ole card. It is a shame that regardless of skin color, they can not try to win just based on their ideas and hope for the country. Apparently they do not think that their ideas are good enough because they had to pull in the ammo. Then there is the other part, anyone who is President has the chance of being shot period. It doesn't matter if it is a good neighborhood, bad neighborhood, gas station, convenience store, or just waving to the crowd on their way to their car. Remember Ronald Reagan? The pure and simple fact that she had to try to play on the sympathy of the general public is appalling! Think about it now, if she feels this way, you can bet that he does as well. Imagine how those of us who are white, hispanic, and oriental will feel if he were to get elected!? I could see a country horribly divided again and reverse rascism running rampant! It is a very sad time in our country that canidates running for president can not just deal with the problems at hand. They have to create new ones as well. As if we do not have enough already. Hillary uses fear mongering, Obama uses the race card and so on. I feel that Fred Thompson is the best one of the lot so far.

She's quite frightening. What generalities! That was a very strange statement to make. Does she realize that more than likely if that did happen, it wouldn't be because he was black. And- statistics bear me out- the perp would probably be BLACK. So what is her point? Oh, I forgot, you don't have to have a point if you're liberal. You only have to FEEL that you have one.

Do the Obama's suddenly live in Compton? Black men do get shot (by other Black men) in innercity ghettos, I don't think the Obama's live there anymore. As a matter of fact I don't think they ever lived there. I would venture a guess that Barack Obama and his idiot wife know about as much about being an innercity Black man as I do. Actually, I probably know more, I listen to NWA.

Ever been part of the only black family on the block in rural Texas? Not so crazy, really.
Not sure why the thumbs down, folks, I am friends with someone who recruited down in Texas who told me that he put the son in the Marine Corps. He said that he was bringing this kid home one night and his car got shot at. I was shocked to hear the story, myself.

You ever been to south central L.A? This is not paranoia, this is reality. And, it is always happening in L.A. It happens in Chicago, Detroit, Miami, D.C, New York, New Jersey etc. It's reality in all sorts of situations when it comes to black men achieving a high accomplishments in anything as well. Hank Aaron was threatened with his life numerous times when he was breaking baseball records. Now, that Barry Bonds is about to break Hank Aaron's records he's getting life threatening calls too. You don't think the first black president of the U.S is not going to get alot of death threats? There are still alot of angry racist whites out there who would love to have the noteriety of killing the first black president. Despite how great it is that he is the first black male presidential candidate in the U.S, the racism and hate that still exists in this country is a sad sad testimony of how much America still needs to grow up.

I think what she said is a bit extreme. But you are right it does sound crazy. Black guys don't get shot just because they go into a gas station.
