why are they the first to support spying on Americans without warrants, putting cameras in all public places, and increasing government intrustion into our every day lives?

Whatever happened to the fear of the "New World Order" and 1984 scenario?

When Clinton was president, it was the in thing to believe in for anti-government right-wingers like Timothy McVeigh and Terry Nichols. They believed it was all part of the socialist "New World Order" and that Clinton had death squads out assasinating people.

Sweatpea, that wiretap program wouldn't happen to be the same one Clinton attempted to use that republicans wouldn't let him would it??
You do realize the reason why he didn't get anything accomplished as far as terrorism was concerned, prior to 9/11 is that a republican majority in the house trimmed his anti-terror proposals so bad they were pretty much useless right?
Or don't you remember Clinton calling the republican anti-terror legislation too weak, after he had to practically beg them to get it done??

With a republican majority in congress, Clinton had to fight terrorism with executive orders, which congress slowly if they every did, respond to.

here is a link for you, I suggest you do some research and try to prove the comments wrong.

Perhaps we should ignore the actions on 911 or the 911 commission recommendations. Clinton did nothing to stem the flow of terrorist in this country or anywhere else for that matter. You seem to have a very incorrect opinion in regards to the warrantless wire taps and if you don't believe there are no oversight in that program you are wrong. You are a victim of a party with an agenda and that could get you and others killed.

Bush is actually really good at making some people on the left realize why we (libertarian conservatives) fear big government.

Unfortunately, he's made socialist cheerleaders out of half the Republican party - so long as its Christian & militaristic socialism.

It's ok with the cons if government is making sure you aren't doing anything wrong in your bedroom, or checking out the wrong type of book at the library, or searching the wrong web sites on your computer.
As long as the government doesn't take their assault rifles.
