Scenic Point- don't give me that crap. i was downtown on 9/11. tell me i'm demeaning victims of 9/11 when i almost was one. i think you republicans demean them and their deaths by using them to create war all over the world and instill fear into the hearts of good people. you invoke their deaths whenever you need to score political points. you make me sick.

Historically speaking, it's a one in 9.3 million chance--which is a slightly greater risk than you have of dying in an avalanche.
You are actually more likely to get killed by a lightning strike as the odds are one in 2.3 million
You are more likely to become a "super model" than be killed by terrorists as the odds are one in 88,000.
Yet GWB and the Republicans/ Conservatives have convinced Americans that there death by a terrorist is imminent. Very sad that the leadership of this country has done that.

Honest answer:
Since we've already experienced a direct strike on our home (years ago), we make sure that the electrical service has an adequate earth ground and that all electronic equipment (computers, audio, musical) are run through top of the line surge suppression.

When ever a storm come by with lightning. I unplug all my phone and cable flip all the circuit breakers off. then I sit on a rubber mat it the middle of the room wearing rubber souled shoes and a full body rubber suit. There is no way that lightning is going to get me.

I wear complete rubber clothing so i don't have to worry about electricity of any form. It also prevents my clothes from being soaked every time i see someone running my way, that could be a terrorist running at me. I just have to empty my shoes every so often.
The super models that I date, think it is sexy!

No, but I do think it wrong to demean and belittle the lost of life on 9/11 or, ridicule and trivialize it's importance.

Nope, no lemming here. I do take common sense precaution when there is a thunderstorm, though. I like your analogy.

Nope. Nor do I spend my time living in daily fear. Should something happen, I'm prepared. :)
Living in hurricane territory tends to keep you prepared.

I have lightning rods on my home. I do not have trees close to the home in the event of storms, I unplug appliances and electronic devices when these storms pop up. In other words I do something about it.
