I bought a book of stamps before the recent rate increase. It's the Status of Liberty/Flag stamp and it says "first class". Since the rate increase, I have mailed a few letters without adding additional postage for the increase. I have not had any letters returned. This afternoon when I checked mail a bill I had sent was refused by the postal worker picking up the mail from the apartment mail slot. He screened it out and wrote note. It wasn't stamped insufficient postage or anything. Is this postal worker just extra vigilant and I have been lucky so far? Were they letting it slide because it probably costs more to ask for 2 more cents? What's the real policy? Do I need to buy those annoying 2 cent stamps?

the U.K Women have equal rights under the law and there should be no exceptions. With arranged marriages, and so called Honor killings, happening in the U.K on a regular bases, isn't it time the law was firmly brought to bear?

This is a Democratic Republic, and not a Monarchy like Great Britain, or an Empire like they have in Syria where leadership is passed down from husband to wife, father to son etc...

Isn't it about time we broke away from this dynastic ideal of Bush, Clinton or their cousins etc....

Time for A CHANGE AMERICA...

Here is the situation: he is 17 and is going to turn 18 in November. school starts back up in August and his parents are making him move to Cary and switching schools. His parents sent him away for the summer just because they don't want him to be with his girlfriend for other reasons. now, he wants to be able to stay at his current high school, but if his parents move to cary during this summer, then he'll have to switch schools and he wants to finish his last year and not be pulled out so close to graduation. he wants to get emancipated because his parents do cause him emotional stress and he did go to counseling and even his counselor thought his parents were out of hand with how they treat him mentally and emotionally. the questions are can he get emancipated while he's away, how long would the process take, does he need a place to go if he gets emancipated, what if his parents don't allow it, if someone can give me any information about this and what he can do in this situation.

what a total idiot and hypocrit. The Republican Congress spent money 10 times faster than any Democrat Congress could dream of spending it.

This amalgam of Pew Center polls say the Democrats have the largest party identification in 17 years, and the trend shows it still widening. (Cons - that means there are way more of us or lean towards us, than there are of you, or lean towards you)

50% Democrat - 38% Republican Identification.

President Bush laid down an impassioned defense of his Iraq policy yesterday, saying the United States must stay in the fight despite an escalating death toll, increasing calls for the withdrawal of U.S. troops and growing public sentiment against the war.

While acknowledging that raging sectarian violence and mounting U.S. casualties in Iraq are "straining the psyche of our country," Bush said that withdrawing U.S. troops before the nation is stabilized would be disastrous.

"Leaving before the job would be done would send a message that America really is no longer engaged, nor cares about the form of governments in the Middle East," he said. "Leaving before the job was done would send a signal to our troops that the sacrifices they made were not worth it. Leaving before the job is done would be a disaster, and that's what we're saying."

I have reading questions on being fired for no reason. From what I hear if you are fired it is
your fault and you can not get unemployment.
You can only get unemployment for being let
go at your job through no fault of your own like,
company downsizing,company closed up and
went bankrupt etc.
Fired-they see it as your fault, even if your boss fired you for no reason. Is this true in most cases?

Do you think that welfare is too easy to get for those who really don't need it and use it to live off of and for us who work full time to make a living and still need a little extra help as far as food, should be able to get a little help.

I work full time, pay daycare, pay a morgtage and just the basics and I run so short on money for groceries, however I am way over the income limit for assistance,.. it seems that you have yo QUIT a job in order to qualify.
