Please don't confuse the current leadership of the GOP with conservatism. I like to consider myself a member of the latter movement, but find myself more often than not at odds with the actions and views of the former...

To answer the actual question, I would say that 7/3 years ago, in terms of being electable, yes. Obviously he's alienated a lot of people, including many of his former advocates, but nevertheless, he did win, even if only by a technicality. How history will judge him is another question.

Definitely not. His ratings are way down. He's way out of touch with his base, and the majority of GOP contenders seem eager to distance themselves from him. Personally, I've started taking a closer look at Tom Tancredo. I can't see much use in McCain anymore. Like Bush, he has about zero credibility with me, by now.

He is leader of the party. Mr. Bush has done a good job. My only criticism is that he is not conservative. I am a conservative. If I am despised world wide, I don't care. Just don't mess with me.

I don't think so.

Cream rises to the top.

So far, Bush continues to sink...further and further...to the bottom.

Nope, not cream!
