(1) Women are allowed into mosques
(2) Enforced arranged marriages are illegal - arranged marriages where both parties are consenting are legal.
(3) Honour killings do not happen on a regular basis and in the rare times that they do the the weight of the law is 'brought to bear'.
(4) Women may well have 'equal rights under the law' in the UK, although they still face discrimination. Our parliament is massively non-representative and women are paid less than men.

I don't think any government would sit easy with trying to interfere too much with any religion and how it is carried out.

The mosques I have visited all had galleries or other accommodation for ladies. Many of them a lot more attractive than the men's area. They also had separate washing areas etc.

There is a perfectly good reason for why women do not worship mixed in with men, and why they often do not visit the mosque as frequently as men do.

It is counter productive to prayer to have a lot of women and men together all with their bottoms stuck in the air. I'd be really uncomfortable and embarrassed if it was me, and totally unable to concentrate as I should..

Women are excused attending for prayer if they are busy at home, as many are with small children etc. Men are expected to go. I suppose men with home responsibilities would be excused as well.

Their doors have never been closed to women. And what is d connection b/w d mosque/Islam & honor killings? The degree of ignorance and/or prejudice exhibited on this site by some people baffles me. Why don't u ask questions b/4 exposing primordial biases?

On the face of it, you would think that the gov would insist on inclusive legislation to homogenize society. However, when this gov slid under the fence on 21% of the vote and when the muslim vote is around 6% (and more active than most) you can see the maths at work.

If Mosques or other Islamic organisations want funding from Government or other organisations they should have to prove that they adhere to the Human Rights Act including giving full access to women. We control the purse strings, they must comply or forgo public finance.

NO. "Truthful Tony"and New Labour should stop their interference in the lawful lives of citizens of the UK. Do you think that New Labour should force the Pope to allow followers of his faith to be allowed to use condoms? It is as ridiculous as your suggestion regarding Mosques.

Women and men under Islamic and other rules are separate in prayer. Sounds like a good idea to me. Your idea of having government interference in otherwise everyday life is a non starter. In any case who trusts the judgement of a criminal government complicit in the biggest war crime since the Holocaust? And as a Christian myself, I would like homosexuality banned completely from the church of England and weeded out completely in society by the government. And any homosexual priest should be put in prison..... (Ha ha ha ha...Dream on!)
