This amalgam of Pew Center polls say the Democrats have the largest party identification in 17 years, and the trend shows it still widening. (Cons - that means there are way more of us or lean towards us, than there are of you, or lean towards you)

50% Democrat - 38% Republican Identification.

Please note the divergence started before the Iraq war - right around 9/11 or a little after.

Stony - you're right. The problem we Dems have is voter turnout. But I'm less concerned about that nowadays.

I find that chart difficult to take seriously given the election results of the past 25 years. Even if you account for possible election fraud, the results were 50-50 which does not jibe with your graph.

The GOP has Bushy to thank for that. Had he not done such a horrendous job in the last 7 years, us Dems would probably still not have a snowball's chance.

Forget Hillary.

Hillary had incredible name recognition coming into this race. Obama had virtually none outside of Illinois.

He has, in a short period of time, closed the gap and it's just about neck and neck.

Hillary raised $26mil and Obama raised $25mil.

As the primaries go on, you're going to see Obama take the lead and then start to pull away from Hillary.

His lack of experience, in this particular election, is going to be a positive. Once again, we should thank Bushy for that.

Had huge turnouts on 2004.people forget places like Ohio where they were forced to stand in line 8-9 hours to vote because of the games played by the Secretary of State( a reub).
How many people gave up and went home? very narrow bush victory there -surprise,surprise.

Just keep in mind the high percentage of your voters who will vote against Hillary and not for her. :)
