FSH is $250/month, starting day 31. retroactive.

depending on exactly WHERE you are, you could also qualify for HSP/IDP to the tune of $225/100 per month as well. Not every location qualifies for HFP/IDP though, even some that do qualify for tax free status.

keep in mind that FICA still comes out.. only Federal and State Taxes are exempt.

All what you have to do son is pray when you're there..... at least if you get bombed god forbids then the Lord shall forgive you from all your sins by the prayers, and if you live and come back to your loved ones then this is because of your prayers....

Don't think money!!!! Think ALERT and ALIVE since you're going to Iraq is unavoidable then what ever they pay you, is what you'll make and no less no more, so think how to stay in one piece and get back home alive

I'm a navy wife.... hubby says (he's a second class)
Family sep is 250 a month over base
hazardous duty is 200 but that doesn't start until you get to the gulf.. Best way of find all this stuff out is to go to mypay or talk to a financial counselor with your wife on base before you leave... they can help ya'll set up a budget so you can make sure she's all taken care of when your gone.
Also... Make sure ABSOLUTELY SURE that your power of attorney is up to date and won't run out while your out to sea ... also check out your wifes military id, base tags and the registration on your car. On one of hubby's deployments I had to rent a car to get on base to pick him up when he got home because our registration expired and he couldn't get the form to me that we needed from the ship to renew our registration it was a royal mess.
And don't listen to these goons ... you're doing right by your wife to know how much you're getting paid making sure you've got all your ducks in a row before you ship out. It's absolutely responsible and proper. All the paper work done and filed everything important taken care of, car repairs done (oil changes tire rotations yadda yadda), odd jobs round the house... so you don't have to worry about anything while you're over there but keepin your head down and in the game. And the less your wife has to worry about the less you have to worry about. And the less you two have to get done when you get stand down leave when you get home. TRUST ME the last thing you two kids are gonna wanna do is be standing in line at the dmv or tryin to figure out money troubles!!!

May God bless you and your wife! Godspeed!

Well pal if you are going in to Iraq just because of the money than be free to call yourself a mercenary.

The best way to get that answer is to go to your chain of command or to your finance ofc. They can give you the correct amounts based on rank etc.
