FULL QUESTION:

With Bush now admitting that the US is "not winning" in Iraq (1) and that Global Warming is due to human involvement (2) wouldn't it have been better if you'd listened to your European intellectual superiors in the first place?

(1) http://www.washingtonpost.com/wp-dyn/content/article/2006/12/19/AR2006121900880_pf.html
(2)http://news.bbc.co.uk/1/hi/world/americas/2023835.stm

Actually you should have listened to us when you voted for Bush in the first place.

Has anyone heard about this? I don't know if it's true or not, but someone on here mentioned that after the USSR fell, documents were released that mentioned that Russians tried to bomb the midwest but the missile did not launch due to a defect.

Does anyone know if there is true or not?

what make you think that children would respect their teachers, parents, law officers, boss and other figures of authority.
They learn from their parent's example.

Your thoughts?

I just seems Bush is threatening to "veto" everything...Did the US not just have a democratic election?..did I miss something?...when did the US transform from a "democracy" to a capitalist dictatorship?

The race is starting to heat up now, and the big boys (and girl) are pulling ahead of the lesser known candidates. Although 2nd tier candidates like Ron Paul are leading on the internet, they get extremely little air time on the television. Is this because the news media doesn't like genuinely good politicians?

... just for them to figure it out for themselves?

My grade teachers always pulled that crap but then I went to college where we get hardly any homework, yet come the end of the semester I know everything because the college teachers actually teach. It seems like grade teachers are just too damn lazy and need a kick in the @ss like 'No Child Left Behind' to figure out their job description.

I mean there are others trained to take his place and the same after that who thinks we just need to withdrawl the troops and drop an atomic bomb on them I mean that place has fought with other places forever what makes them think they are going to change now? And since G.B is sitting over there we need to impeach him and everyone for him because this has gone wrong ok I personally think hes just getting revenge on us for what we did to his old man.

QUOTE "Foreign powers are clearly failing in Afghanistan; they neither won hearts and minds nor contributed to the stability and rebuilding of the country in any meaningful way, says Ramzy Baroud."

I know the British troops place huge importence on winning hearts and minds based on 35 years of TRIED AND TESTED experience in Northern Ireland, but, with so many Allies having thier own agendas, could those be sending out mixed messages resulting in the ultimate goal taking longer to achieve?

Seriously, if I see one more reference to Hitler I think I'm gonna puke. NO ONE in the United States is even close to how evil Hitler was and when someone compares Bush or whoever to him, they really show their ignorance.

I understand my taxes will go up, but if I can stop paying the insurance premium won’t I have about the same amount of money in my pocket? What difference does it make if I send the money to Blue Cross or Medicare?

Won’t it be good for business, especially small business? If they don’t have to provide health insurance for their employees (and pay for a chunk of it too) in order to attract good talent won’t they be able to focus on their business?

They say GM has to add $1,500 to the price of every car it builds in the US to cover health care costs of it’s employees. But the cars they build in Canada don’t have that extra overhead.

All the people without insurance and can’t pay use the Emergency room which is the most expensive care there is. That everyone has to pay anyway. If we had universal coverage, they could go to a regular doctor for a fraction of the cost of the ER. Won’t that save everyone money?

Tomorrow I'm sending my husband a care package to an APO AE box in Iraq. Anyone have any tips or any loopholes I can use to get the cost down a bit? It'll be a hefty sort of package... do the Flat Rate boxes work to Iraq with USPS?

Thank you!

Two leaders of Iraq’s labor movement will tour a dozen U.S. cities between June 4 and June 29 to address members of Congress, union members, and the general public about the impact of the U.S. occupation on the Iraqi labor movement and the lives of working people. They will also talk about why Iraqi unions oppose the proposed oil law being pushed by the Bush administration that would give control of 2/3 of Iraq’s oil reserves to foreign oil companies.

Why are we in Iraq if not for the oil while Bush is in control? Is the war helping the people by destroying their land and their people? Why not just pay the "good guys" in Iraq the money that we're spending on war until the Iraqi people get on their feet and save American lives?
