You didn't say what country you live in. You need to take your passport and go to the nearest Italian Consulate and apply for immigrant status. They will tell you everything else you will need to provide to get a resident visa.

It would help to know where you want to immigrate from, if in the E.U. you can travel to Italy and apply for a resident permit and a work permit, contact the Italian embassy in your country.
