It's not so much that liberals don't get that. It's that they don't trust capitalism. They think businesses should make money, but just enough to survive. The rest of the revenue should then be spread amongst the people, via the government, so everyone can share in the hard work and prosperity of the business owner. That's only fair, right?

Look at Hillary Clinton's latest economic plan. It's called Shared Prosperity. Does that scare you? It should. How did that work out for Lenin? For the Soviet Union?

Where did you get the idea that Liberals don't like business? Thats a bit of an overgeneralization. Liberals like things like roads and road improvement and aqueducts and well maintained water systems, in short, all the infrastructure that makes business even possible. We like national health care not just because its the right thing to do but because it makes economic sense to cut the cost of health care for business. Did you know that health care expenses add $1,100 to the cost of every car produced in the US, but only $100 to the cost of a car produced in Japan or Canada? Thats because they have national health care, and we don't. Don't you think GM and Ford and Chrysler would all be in MUCH better shape if the country had been smart enough to do the LIBERAL thing and adopt national health care? Please don't believe all the c rap you hear on Limbaugh, he is an idiot.

I'm pretty liberal, but I think raising taxes on the rich is basically punishing them for having money. The rich already pay - what is it - 50% of their income to Uncle Sam. That is SO not fair. Raising taxes on the rich will cause businesses to move overseas, hire fewer employees, and pay their employees less.

But it makes me really sad that so many children don't have health insurance. I bet if liberals and conservatives could stop fighting they could make a compromise that would help poor kids get medical care without having to further punish the rich for being rich.

If an individual is a successful businessman, he will be independent of the government. The more successful people, the less dependence on the government to provide solutions for their lives.

Therefore, liberals do not like the idea of success and penalize those who are successful.

i can tell you that for the last 6 years my business was doing great my employees were making good money sometimes more than me. but ever since November when the democrats won elections the big business that i need for my small business to be success full has stoped spending which means that my employees are struggling to survive. that is what the democrats can promise

The difference is that Repubs say maximize profits AT ALL COSTS (and for us helping you do that we get a healthy chunk).
Dems say make all the profits you can but do it within the confines of the law. Pay your fair share of taxes, abide by any environmental laws that you need to, treat your employees fairly and ethically.

I have a hard job understanding this one as well. Especially since they are in the business of tending to themselves. They would really love for us to be communists. Which I honestly don't undrstand because that is against there beliefs as well. I have tried to stop myself from trying to understand them because they never make any sense and just chase their tale in a circle. I think that the world hypocritical fits them well.
