We need a president and a congress that represent the will of the people. We don't have that right now. Vote the person, not the party.

For example, currently we have a Pres & a dem congress that are trying to shove amnesty down our throats. They are our EMPLOYEES. We need to fire them if they don't listen to the majority!

No. We need a Democratic President and a Democratic Congress so that the country can get things done and move forward.

So, you're saying that Republicans can't control themselves? :-)

But, seriously, I agree with you that whatever party is in the White House, that Congress needs to be the other party to prevent abuses from occuring.

I think the President should not be directly elected by the people (I know, I know - electoral college - sheesh!), but that the Presidential candidates should be selected by each party just as they are selected now, and that the candidate of the incoming minority party in the House of Representatives should then be the President of the United States. This would ensure Checks and Balances and Congressional Oversight for at least the first half of every President's term in office.

That would be fine as long as the Congress has enough votes to overrule any veto.

It doesn't really matter because Republicans will raise taxes in other ways other than your pay check, such as property tax, gas tax, impact fees etc.

One way or the other, America works best when the government does nothing. We need to restore political gridlock so the country can move forward again.
