Because we share no common values with the French. The French think liberty is a slogan to be shouted from the roof tops. For us it is a state to be achieved by an understanding of human nature, the establishment of the rule of law, and the institutions with which to preserve it.
Picking on Asians is racially bias. We don't like the French regardless of their race. In that sense we have no racial bias. After all the French are just like us, only stupider.

I think there's a big misconception regarding the French People. While I have disliked some of the things their government has done, I have never hated the people of that country, nor do I think they had the people of this country. Its a government thing and our sentiments are largely (and wrongly) fueled by the media.

Yes very true. Especially in Britain. I hate the French and you can slag them off as much as you want and no one says a thing but mention anything Asian and you are a racist. Skin colour is the only issue here.

I guess it is the same thing. Maybe what makes it more acceptable in the UK is the history of fighting the French. I am a british Francophile.

It used to be the same thing, back when we had freedom of thought and speech. But now the government and Hollywood get to decide what's right and wrong, and what we can and cannot say. We're still allowed to mock and persecute Christians, but that's about it.

Our fellow Europeans pose no cultural threat. Introducing values and religious beliefs widely different and in numbers is felt as a threat to the way we feel we like to live.
