The race is starting to heat up now, and the big boys (and girl) are pulling ahead of the lesser known candidates. Although 2nd tier candidates like Ron Paul are leading on the internet, they get extremely little air time on the television. Is this because the news media doesn't like genuinely good politicians?

No, it's because the internet Paul movement is just a ploy by dems and members of other countries around the world to try and get the nominations for both parties to be anti-Iraq War. He registers sometimes lower than 1% with registered Republicans and is therefore irrelevant.

No, it is because Ron Paul has no appeal to most people, he doesn't have the money of the front runners because people don't donate to losers. The Internet is cheap and most of the blogs are populated by teens and sub teens who can't vote anyway. It has nothing to do with like or dislike. They have to be newsworthy and offer something for the voters that actually interests them. If Ron Paul has no money to pay for a dynamite campaign manager and handlers he is not going to win no matter how good he is. Ron Paul is not a real Republican but a Libertarian. The media actually prefers real Republicans and Democrats rather than some third party candidate that nationally is in single digets. It is a waste of their air time or press space.

Hillary Clinton, Barack Obama, Rudolph Giuliani, John McCain and Ron Paul are leading in most polls because they have excellent views on critical issues.
