In the state of PA, someone comes up to you in the hall and moves in front of you. He then throws his shoulder into you causing you to fly a few feet into a locker. He then laughs and walks away with his jock friends. If he keeps doing this can I press charges? Isn't this assault and battery? Can I press charges if it happens again?

Why is it that the US (and particularly the media) is so bent on gun control? Every news story about a shooting is followed by the obligitory 2 minutes of what the media's opinion is... drivel about the brady bill and mental patients buying guns etc etc...

Why aren't we passing laws to punish those who use guns in crimes? Currently in most states if you pull a gun on someone during a crime but don't shoot them you get a very mild sentance. Why not punish those people, instead of the ones who use guns properly? You pull a gun during a crime, you get 20 to life. Bam, gun crimes go down.

Much easier than repealing the 2nd amendment, which would take an act of God or a deafeningly overwhelming public outcry (as in not gonna happen in our lifetimes).

I have personally seen this many times. People really get upset if they are from say, Brazil, and are mistaken for a mexican. Is there some sort of elitism amongst south american countries that they feel they are better than mexicans. I have also heard plenty of people from Spain that think this way too. One person claimed that the "butchered" version of Spanish that Mexicans speak is basically slang. Anyway I think that explains what I'm trying to find out.

And business? I'm asking because I thought gas was one of those natural resources that is limited, and would eventually run out? Isn't that why they're trying to make cars that run with electricity, or other materials and resources? I'm just asking because back in high school, I vaguely remember us discussing something of the sort. Anyway, I have no idea and am not attempting to start any controversy. I was just curious because it seems like everyone blames politics and businesses for gas prices, but could it possibly be true that the sources are running out? Please explain to me...lol because I have no idea about the story behind the gas. I just buy it, and never even really think to question why the prices were so high; just assumed that was due to the scarcity of the resource. Thanks in advance! :)

Doesnt it look like after 911 somebody in Govt would get a clue as to how dangerous it is when Mulims overstay their Visas and are in this country illegally?
