Outpatient waits reduced from 6+ months in 2000 to 3 months by the end of 2005

Inpatient waits reduced from 17+ months in 2000 to 6 months by the end of 2005

And before the Tories start bleating on about hidden waiting lists:

A new target was set in 2004, to reduce by 2008 the wait from GP referral to treatment, including previously ‘hidden’ waits for diagnostics and referrals between consultants. At the end of 2006, 35 per cent of patients were treated within 18 weeks of GP referral.

Bloody Blair, huh?

I live in the middle of 3 terraced houses. My house and one of my neighbours have driveways the other has not.The neighbour without a drive is using the end of our drive to access the grass verge often leaving muddy tyre marks. The end of the drive and grass area is owned by the council(although we layed the drive)and we maintain it.Other local residents and visitors have also started parking there..We have told our neighbours how we feel but they continue to cross our drive and park there. We do not want to fall out with our neighbours so can anyone offer any advice to stop this.

Barack Obama said 12,000 people were killed by tornadoes! The dath tole from the tornado in Arkansas currently stands at eleven people.
Can you imagine what our biased media would say if that exageration were made by George Bush? It would be front page for a week and all would accuse him of being an idiot!

Shouldn't the same apply to Barack Obama?

How can such a poor handling of the truth for political gain be excused?

How can we consider electing such a hack?

I recently saw the movie "America: Freedom to Fascism" by Aaron Russo . He states that the 16th amendment was never ratified by a sufficient number of states to become law and also that the Supreme Court ruled in 1916 that the amendment did not bestow on congress the power to create any new tax (ie. federal income tax). Any thought as to the validity of this assertion. Has anyone here done any independent research on it?

Just suppose China, Russia, and N Korea invade the US and say they are doing this to liberate us from evil capitalism and to have regime change because of Bushs international crimes.

So lets suppose the troops China and their allies are roaming around American cities arresting every American that is standing up to them. So the Invading forces call these brave Americans ( Insurgents and Terrorists).

They also take some of these Americans to a Gitmo Like Camp in China and these Americans are now there without any Protection or legal recourse ( They are there indefinately)

So now these Chinese and their Allies Torture these Americans and place hoods on them and make them get on top of each other naked on the cold floors and then some of these Americans are tortured so much that they die.

SO now these Chinese forces change our American Government and replace it with a Pro Chinese/Communism Government .

I hope everyone understand the moral of this question and story.

And what are the degrees of murder?

.….. is through peaceful measures (e.g. diplomatic dialogue; widespread non-violent demonstrations; feats of kindness and generosity; gestures of humanity and compromise; cultural exchanges, etc.) and NOT violent acts of terrorism? After all, reading the "enemy’s" inherent characteristics and mounting a battle plan accordingly is a major component of any "war (or peace)" strategy. ... Or are these people innately, ideologically, religiously and/or culturally bent on bloodshed as the only option/instrument for securing their respective interests?

But when an immigrant happens to be more educated than they are, they complain that s/he is arrogant?

Is there any possible way to win?

And some wonder why current immigrants couldn't care less about the majority's approval! When no matter what you do, you are still hated, you stop giving a toss about being liked.

Like that old joke I heard once in Houston:

Q: What do you call a Black who dropped high school?
A: A "n-word."

Q: What do you call a Black that just got his degree in aeronautics?
A: A f--king "n-word."

Racial hatred does not depend on how smart, agreeable, educated or "legal" you are. You could save their lives, and they'd still hate your guts.

Stop caring about what they think.

There is a report on some of the Jehovahs Witness Discussion Forums that the Watchtower Society settled 14 law suits taken out against them by victime of child abuse from within their congregations out of court. All these cases were in the USA, and it is also reported that the Watchtower was able to impose a gagging order on the claimants to prevent them going public with the settlements. However, the news has, apparently, been leaked, not by the claimants or their legal representatives, but by people within the organisation who wish that the truth should be told. Apparrently, the Napa Valley Courthouse in California has confirmed that these cases have indeed been settled out of court, but no details of the size of the payouts has been revealed as yet. If these reports are accurate, it would appear that the Watchtower Society has once again been able to cover up child abuse cases within their organisation, though settling out of court is an admission of guilt in itself.

My parents were immigrants most of my family were. A lot of people I know are immigrants the general consensus amongst these people is that they want to learn English. Granted most of them speak it with an accent that we all make fun of even the children of immigrants but they are more than Eager to learn and know it is the key to succeeding in the US. My mother took night classes to learn it. Many immigrants I see working at McDonalds and places like that are using it as a tool to learn our language because immersion is a good way to know. Why do people think just because they may speak their native language with others they do not want to learn. Remember you do not learn English overnight especially when you are an older person.

I was given a gift certificate to Nordstrom, and I bought myself an expensive beautiful Brahmin purse which was on sale for half price. The purse is made of hand tooled leather, and the design looks like mock crocodile skin. It is specially done by the artists at Brahmin, and it is quite realistic. I've been scorned and ridiculed for having a purse that looks like crocodile, and when I tell them it is made to look that way by artists, I am told that it is unethical for leather artists to be making something that looks like endangered animals. This happens at least once a day by someone. Yesterday I was told that I should give the crocodile his skin back, and today I was told that I was lucky they didn't have a can of red spray paint. So I am wondering, do you think it is unethical for leather artists to make goods that look like crocodile skin? Am I hurting the cause of an endangered animals by using this purse?
