I'm just curious. I used to use this site quite a lot during the haydays of Bushism when it seemed most people here where Bush supporters. Are these people still around? Also, if you were a Bush supporter and changed your mind, what caused you to finally see how wrong he was?

I was a supporter in 2000.

I supported the attack in Afghanistan.

I was reluctant to support the Iraq invasion, but felt compelled to give some support, based on the (now apparent lies) "facts" about Saddam.

By the end of 2003, it was clear that we had a president who was being controlled by his vice-president, his Secretary of Defense and some little gnome called Karl Rove.

My vote in 2004 was a protest vote against Bush.
Since the party has been in power, there are clear signs of corruption in Congress, the government has intruded into our very private lives (think Terri Schiavo) and national issues take a backseat to what is obviously a bloody folly in Iraq.

We do not have enough National Guard support at home to help out in the event of natural disasters.

We are sending our battle-weary troops out again and again.

We certainly have little choice in the Democratic side, being that the candidates are just as far left as most of the Republican candidates are far-right.

Is there anyone out there who could be said to be a level-headed, intelligent, compassionate and responsible moderate who'll united this nation?

Help me!
I'm an American in search of home!

I think your just looking in the wrong places. I appreciate the President. People say that he lied on Iraq, but the information he had was the same information that most people in the UN (and the UN itself) had. When he "forced the war" on allegations of WMD's, no one in that room questioned him, because they had the same information.

People say that he's letting the economy go to pot, but it seems to me that the stocks are going more up than down, and he's not riding any dot-com bubble.

When you look just a little bit farther then the headlines, you might see that there isn't too much to hate about the president as you might think :)

There sure are... Are there still socialist Liberals out there? Do you love Hilary, was Clinton the best ever? Monica thought so. Loved Carter? He hated military. Ahhh He had liberal support going in,,, Maybe you would of been happier with ole flip flop Gore. Maybe hilarys tampering with the Drug companies was ok with you. She only was trying to force the companies to lower the price. So they took their business out of the country and some just decided to close, remember the flu shot shortage? Yep Hilary caused it. American companies did not make it because of her, putting us at the mercy of over seas drug companies.

Ohhhh yeah bull crap Bush Lied,,, Dont tell me no Liberal leaders have gas stock. It is just convienient for the liberal party to point fingers and forget their support. I think Liberals set him up. They want power back so bad they will do anything. I dont trust liberal leaders. If you want me to support your idea's is Palosi the best you can do? The bigger power houses are putting the puppets in place. You will get your government programs. But I still wont be happy about paying it and loosing my choices to be socialized.

Ignorance is bliss, your proving it.

evaluate this. heavily, take a 2nd and think of approximately this: the american militia soundly defeated the communists in Viet Nam in each and every substantial conflict fought - alongside with the TET offensive which properly crushed them. For all reason and purpose, the North Viet Namese have been defeated - yet they checked in with the american media and, to their utter amazement, they discovered that they have been triumphing. And, authentic sufficient, we lost the war at abode and withdrew our troops - assuring the Viet Cong a victory and the consequent bloodbath. Do you truly think of this little bit of history is lost on the terrorists? because of the fact of this i think that public reflects and rallies aimed in direction of our president in a time of war is the comparable as helping our enemy. it truly is truly no longer that no longer hassle-free to connect the dots.

I've turned away from from the Conservatives but not so far as to be a Lib. I'm registered as an Independent because of Bush, but I really don't want to be aligned with Clinton either. Unfortunately, between the two, that's where the money is.

Hell no. I hate the bastard & everything he stands for. Cheney is worse. If you still support this jerk you deserve everything that happens to you & more. Guilliani & Bush planned the 9-11 attacks. I'm scared of terrorists... NOT
