No, the EU needs to become more accountable to the citizens of Europe and the Council of Ministers (or whatever it's called) should be democratically elected and answerable to the people too. Other than that, anything which brings people together has to be a good thing.
Francis- Most people who claim dole would rather be at work. Anyway, most of them have contributed through tax and national insurance anyway. In my view that makes them entitled to claim. That was the deal when the welfare state was conceived. Manufacturing has declined in this country because of the simple fact that companies can produce goods more cheaply abroad. There has been lots of news coverage in recent months about some leading supermarkets and clothing retailers buying goods made in sweat shops by children and adults for next to nothing. That's why manufacturing is dead. Isn't capitalism a wonderful thing?
Pulling out of the EU would not address any of the difficulties faced by ordinary people.

No, Britain is not the world superpower that it used to be and would only weaken itself by doing so. The EU has done a lot of good in the World and is responsible for most of the peace talks and it needs support. Withdraw by a large country like Britain may cause other countries to question the EU. It is frail enough and does good, breaking it apart would be a disaster for the world, not just Europe.

ABSOLUTELY NOT!
I like the cheap (£5 plus tax) flights from Ryanair, Easyjet, BMI Baby et. al. that the EU has made possible.
And so does veryone else.
Without the EU they would all disappear overnight as all the treaties would have to be renogiated.

No, but we should be able to run Our Own Country and Money as we chose, not what the other members say. Yes Europe getting together to aid each other great, but not running our courts and banks.

Yes the sooner the better but it won't happen as it is a gravy train for all the failed politicians from British political parties like Kinnock,Mandelson etc. We should have had the same arrangement as Norway, all the benefits but retain our independence in our own country.Eventually, probably years hence the whole rotten and corrupt organisation will implode.

Absolutely YES.
For those that say it is economic suicide to do so consider this, if the UK pulled out of Europe does Europe suddenly disappear of the face of the planet? No of course not and as they need to import far more from us than we need to import from them, our businesses will still thrive.
This is especially so as our businesses, Country, schools, hospitals etc are being dperived of funds because they are going straight to the EU.

No. We should build stronger ties with our neighbours, not isolate ourselves. Britain is no longer a country of steam, iron and battleships - we can no longer go it alone.

Simple answer...NO.
Unless you want us to become some European economic backwater. Even European countries which are not in the EU (Norway, Iceland) have to abide by EU rules.

Yes as every year our contribution far outweighs what ever benefits we receive, regardless of how often the government re-arrange the figures it is costing us billions for a few hundred million in exports
