Doesnt it look like after 911 somebody in Govt would get a clue as to how dangerous it is when Mulims overstay their Visas and are in this country illegally? Doest it look like these Muslims would have been scrutinized before being allowed to enter the US. Is the Govt never going to learn until its too late? Thank god for the Circuit City clerk who suspected something and notified police. But isnt this what the democrats say not to do profile? I have had it up to my neck with this politically correct BS havent you?

I was taking a Police, and Social Order class. This guy from the USAR from Homeland Security came in. He told us that after 9/11 the FBI, and CIA was working together. But I mean he said the best way to protect us is up to us. If we see something out of the norm. Report it.

On the one hand, anyone in law enforcement will tell you that profiling is an effective tool / policing strategy.

On the other hand, as the other poster alludes to, the most difficult terrorists to "profile" are the lone individuals/splinter groups, the "Timothy McVeighs" of the world, that are very difficult to identify and penetrate.

So, those points considered, I would still have to agree with you on faulting the CIA/FBI/DHS for not nabbing the individuals of this group who had been in this country for YEARS illegally, especially given their nations of origin (ie. Nations with significant Muslim populations).

We have become too "PC" in this country and, unfortunately, you would have thought 9/11 would have curtailed that political correctness. I hope it does not take another such incident for us to draw the line on political correctness and pandering to one particular group at the expense of all others.

Why? It's not like they were part of a large international terrorist organization. They were a small, home-grown group that decided to do this on there own. Just as difficult to stop as Tim McVeigh was.

And it is the duty of every American to be vigilant. As a citizen of a country where the government is of, by and for the people, each of us has a duty to act for the protection of society.
