In the state of PA, someone comes up to you in the hall and moves in front of you. He then throws his shoulder into you causing you to fly a few feet into a locker. He then laughs and walks away with his jock friends. If he keeps doing this can I press charges? Isn't this assault and battery? Can I press charges if it happens again?

is this at a high school?
if so, you report the incidents to your principal and by all means tell your parents or someone you can trust, if the incidents are regular.
if the guy becomes more violent you should report it to the police and if need be get a restraining order.
do not let this guy bully you, you can stand up for yourself by telling someone who has the power to stop these incidents.
no, these incidents and you describe them are not defined as assault and battery. they are bullying, and that should not happen to anyone.
please tell someone before that guy crosses the line and you really get hurt. you can go to the police and they will probably talk to the boys and to their parents.
if you feel threatened by all means report it to the police.

It is assault, but not battery (aggravated assault) unless he causes an injury. Sure you can press charges if it happens again. Just be sure it's not only worth doing but necessary.
In some states, even touching you against your will is classified as assault, but don't expect the police or the courts to do anything about such a minor transgression.
Better to confide in your school advisor or a teacher, and after you have discussed it with someone at that level and know that you can count on them, then let this guy know that his actions aren't acceptable and won't be tolerated. If you judge him to be a hard case or a nut job, better let the police know too, and stay in the bright lights until the matter is resolved. You don't want to end up in the hospital.

Yes it is asault and harrasment if he keeps doing it; in my jusrisdiction any unwanted touching is an assault even if it in slow motion.
I guess you are talking about a school situation, if a I were you I would report him first with the school officials then if nothing is done I'd do a police report you can also ask for a protective order. You don even have to wait to happend again to repport it, this guys keep on doing this stuff because they think everybody is afraid of them.

umm it is technically battery, if he approaches you and threatens to hit you than you have assault and battery. but in this case, unless he really hurts you, you have a very small chance of walking away with a significant amount of cash. he would end up with a slap on the wrist.

Why wait until next time. Physical contact constitutes battery. Either report it to the Principal, or live with it.
