I live in a medium sized town like 120,000 population. In a day I see Nigerians, people from the Balkans, Laos, the standard assortment of Mexicans and latin americans. What I am asking is how many different types can this country import and still function? If we all have different languages and varying interest levels in learning a common language will we run into basic language barrier problems that breakdown society???

OK, I have found it! The problem I have been having is how to punish those who are in our country illegally, but not spend BILLIONS deporting them or detaining them in our prison system. So, here it goes:

1. We make it easier for them to get work visas. The only stipulation is: they have to learn English. They get their work visas, learn English, pay their taxes, etc.

2. Anyone (after a certain period) caught in this country illegally is given jail time. Not deportation, jail time. Anyone employing or renting to an illegal immigrant gets jail time, unless the illegal had fake documentation, and then the illegal gets MORE jail time.

3. Now for the genius part. Anyone who is now in this country illegally CAN get a work visa, but... they are put on lifetime probation. If they ever commit a crime, EVER, they get a much more severe punishment for the crime than usual, and deportation, or they are released, or whatever..

So, will it work?

Liberal Democrats are attempting to muzzle conservative talk radio: they are assaulting free speech. Like the communists in the former Soviet Union, America’s liberals seek to crush dissent by consolidating control over the media—especially talk radio, which has emerged as the dominant medium for conservative opinion.

Allies close to House Speaker Nancy Pelosi are promoting legislation, which if passed, will take off the air prominent conservative radio hosts such as Michael Savage, Rush Limbaugh, Sean Hannity and Bill O’Reilly—along with thousands of smaller conservative broadcasters. The bill, entitled the "Media Ownership Reform Act," is sponsored by Rep. Maurice Hinchey, a leftist Democrat from New York. The legislation aims to revive the so-called “Fairness Doctrine” of the 1940’s: “all views” are to be given equal time on radio.

US Presidential hopeful Barack Obama can now count himself as one of the millions of Americans with Irish heritage.

Research by the genealogy website ancestry.co.uk reveals that Mr Obama's great great great grandfather was born in Ireland, although it is not yet known where.

Falmouth Kearney sailed from Ireland to New York in 1850 at the age of 19 on the S.S. Marmion arriving on the 20th of March

Yep, you heard it in News over and over and over again the whole week. In fact, not only immigrants, but the media people were hurt and not only that, but the expensive equipment they use to broadcast were destroyed and they are not workable any more. The question: Who is going to pay that? L.A.P.D.? Villaraigosa said they are investigating the incidents, but as a matter of fact, there is not too much to dig or investigate, since the video talks by itself and we can see clearly what happened that day. Shame on them. People were very pacific walking to push the Congress to make an Immigration Reform which the have the right to do since this is in the Constitution. When police investigate a crime commited by any U.S A Citizen, they hate when this person lies to them, perfect understandable, but in this case, it seems like L.A.P.D is lieing about the incident, since they say somebody started throwing bottles against them. So, why in this case they can lie? Mmmmmmm! I wonder why.

Dear Democrats,

I would like to know why all of you like to bash republicans. However when one of your own gets caught with their hand in the cookie jar, why all of you and all of the newspapers sit very quiet.

Senator Feinstein has funneled more than $1 Billion to companies controlled by her husband.
http://thehill.com/david-keene/feinsteins-cardinal-shenanigans-2007-04-30.html

William Jefferson was caught with a $90,000 bribe in his freezer in new orleans
http://www.cbsnews.com/stories/2006/05/21/politics/main1638404.shtml

If I remember correctly, republicans Cunningham and Ney went to jail for things like this. Why are members of the democratic party protecting their own? Why aren't these two on the cover of every newspaper and the lead story every night?

Is this the democratic culture of corruption and cover up?

The M2A4 15 lb shaped charge and the M3A1 40 lb shaped charge can be placed upside down in a hole in the road and rigged for command detonation. They can also be placed on their side with sand bags and angled to direct their blast (15 lb 10 feet) (40 lb 20 feet). You can not stop a truck with small arms even if you hit the steer tires. Remember the Marines in Beirut and the 9, 82nd Airborne troops north of Bagdahd.

If a police officer or family member gets pulled over for breaking a traffic violation they just need to say they are a police officer and drive away scott-free. It is colled "Professional Courtesy".

I ask this because my buddies father is a cop, and he has been pulled over 3 times in the past year and just tells them about his father and he drives away with out a ticket . I was with him one time and he got away with going 17 over the speed limit. In the mean time I get pulled over by the same HP and I get a ticket for going 8 over. This is Crap!

Someone at my school started a rumour that i said i was going to bring a gun to school, i didn't say this but they had to invistigate. They did, and said that they belived me, and told me i wasn't going to be punished, because they knew it was just some stupid rumour. They decied it would be best for me to stay at home for the rest of the year,"homebound." i wasn't complaining, a free vacation, and i would still get homework and grades. But then they went back on their word and said i had to either be suspeneded and bring my case before the school board or i can go to ADT(Adolescent Day Treatment). They send juvienile deliquents there. So of course i went to ADT, if i got suspended i would fail the school year. But my class is full of pregnant girls and crimanals. They said i wasnt getting in trobule, but i have to be sent to a school for tennage crimnals? do i need a lawyer?

The officer stopped the lady because she was going 30 mph over the limit. She then took off and was pulled out of her car and arrested and taken to jail. The officer was suspended w/o pay for a week.

I totally agree with the officers actions.
Are we to just let people disregard the law and perhaps create another accident or fatality resulting in disobeying the law?

Her father is having a heart attack and she wants to be there.
What is she going to do? Except cause a scene?
Is there something that she was going to say to him that she could not have said before?
Do we let dramaticism overrule the law?
Is it everybody elses fault for her actions?

The father did recover from the heart attack.

Yesterday I hosted a veto rally in my hometown. I feel passionate about my desire to see a timeline for withdrawal of troops in Iraq...EVEN IF that timeline for withdrawal is TWO YEARS or so from now. It seems hopeless to have no plan for an end--especially with major combat actions being over for this long. I am connected to 250+ local democrats and republicans who feel the same way about Iraq--and I urged each of them to attend our rally. Five of 250+ actually showed up. I have concluded that it is "cool" to dislike this president. There seems to be millions out there who blog about demanding a change in our current agenda--but when it comes time to ACT people cower.

I'll be sending out a newsletter later today...and I want to add a few words that challenge people to take thier views seriously. I want to put out a message that you shouldn't just TALK about wanting change. ACT! Any ideas on a few words to get my point across...positively but firmly?
