Except for the occasional abortion bomber and christian identity (racist christian doctrine) murderer, most christians are no longer as dangerous as they once were. During the Dark Ages, they literally burned "witches", killed heretics, launched holy wars against other religions, forced jews to convert under threat of death, demonized jews (for example martin luther), and even waged wars against other christians. And they did all this with the support of biblical scripture. There is actual scripture commanding christians to kill witches and nonbelievers in the Bible.

That is no longer the case.

What happened? The book hasn't changed. What did?

THE INTERPRETATION. That's what changed. The Bible has just as many backward things in it as the Koran does.

So cons stop being so racist against muslims in general, and attack the real problem: RIGHT-WING RELIGIOUS ISLAMIC FUNDAMENTALISM.

There are liberal muslims out there and they are not the problem. Con/fundie muslims are.

The government is not aware of any specific, credible threat against Obama, according to a law enforcement source familiar with the decision. But the campaign has received hate mail and calls and other "threatening materials" in the past and during his campaign, the source said.
Three Obama campaign officials who discussed the issue on condition of anonymity also said there was no specific threat against the candidate. They said the request stemmed from what one called the "cumulative effect" of a heavier campaign schedule, larger crowds and "just the growing perception internally" it was time to take additional security precautions that are best suited for the Secret Service.
A Department of Homeland Security spokesperson also tells CNN there is no known specific or credible threat.

Who pays for this protection ?
A real threat ?
Or great extra news coverage by the media ?
What do you think ?
Answer any or all.

My quiestion is regarding the debate regarding lowering the drinking age to 18....I like how this comedian put it....Many people argue "If an 18 year old is regarded as an adult in all other aspects...and they can go to war and die for thier country then, why cant they have a beer??......Well youve got it all wrong...If an 18 year old girl can star in a porno and get her face cu**ed all over by a 40 yr old man...then why cant she be old enough to have a beer???...I think that is a valid point....Dont you??

Some days Hillary's on top of the polls and some days Obama is. If one of them ran for president and the other ran for vice president, would they slaughter the Republican vote? Who do you think would make the better Democratic president?

OK, so no one thinks this is strange? Obama is getting secret service "protection" 9 months ahead of any presidential candidate ever. I think it's because they (media, racist polititions etc) have not been able to find enough dirt on Obama to tarnish his image so they are putting the ragged dogs on him. I just don't trust it and I think it's a set up. I mean, can you believe that G.W. would even OK government spending on Obama after the way G.W. has shown himself to be prejudice against minorities in the past? Again I think it's a set up!

In a sense, isn't it the other way around? I mean, illegal immigrants march through the streets demanding equal rights, claiming that they've been "promised" to them. However, is it not true that these rights are granted to American citizens? I have absolutely nothing against anyone's race or ethnic background, but the idea of ANYONE immigrating illegally to America makes me quite angry. Also, why is it fair that illegal immigrants should just be granted equal rights when African Americans had to struggle and work so hard for SO many years?

They pretend like its their country only and if you don't agree with them you have get out. What kind of childish thinking is that?

The thing is most Americans do not agree with them. They are tired of right-wing policies that don't work. That is why 50% of Americans lean Democrat today versus only 35% for Republicans.

Is one man's thinking better than the thinking of millions of others?
Many people here say they admire Bush because he does what he thinks is right and ignores the thinking of the majority. It seems to be okay to some people to continue fighting a long drawn out war simply because one man in America thinks that we should.
It's odd that in all these years, I haven't heard of one single friend or relative of the president being killed or wounded in Iraq.
Americans are being called upon to sacrifice their sons and daughters in Iraq. The conflict in the middle-east and the federal deficit fueled by the war are driving energy prices thru the roof. Yet, we continue to fight this war because one man thinks it's the right thing to do.
I find it distressing that the richest, most powerful country in the world is acting upon the thinking of a single man.
