OK, so no one thinks this is strange? Obama is getting secret service "protection" 9 months ahead of any presidential candidate ever. I think it's because they (media, racist polititions etc) have not been able to find enough dirt on Obama to tarnish his image so they are putting the ragged dogs on him. I just don't trust it and I think it's a set up. I mean, can you believe that G.W. would even OK government spending on Obama after the way G.W. has shown himself to be prejudice against minorities in the past? Again I think it's a set up!

First off I am not racist! Secondly, all I can say is watch out for the jaw dropping crap they try an pin on Obama since this new development. I know that it is part of government law to give high profile candidates secret service and maybe this case does warrent extra protection for Obama but one or two of you said it best...that Hillary Clinton wants Obama out of her way. With all her political connections and secret ties to G.W. what better way than to sheild Obama behind th guise of secret service protection to either slow him down or take him out completley?

Wow are you ever a racist!! And looking to find a conservative conspiracy too? Did you even read the article? Bush has nothing to do with Obama getting Secret Service protection. The majority of the people on who decided this were Democrats. The biggest reason it is 9 months ahead of any other candidate is that the campaign has started many months sooner than any other campaign. What a waste of taxpayer dollars.

Actually Senator Hillary Clinton (D-NY) was the first candidate in this race to have Secret Service protection. She has had protection for years.

We live in a racist society pure and simple. Not all people are racist but you have a small amount of people who would rather have Obama dead then have a black president lead them in this country. I wish it would change. Remember Jack Kennedy, Martin Luther King, Robert Kennedy and Medgar Evers. Also the unnamed white, black and other individuals who died for defending equal rights that others did not want them to have and killed them for it.

I seriously doubt there is a deception here. I have no problem believing that Obama has been receiving death threats from groups such as the KKK ever since he has first entered politics.

I couldn't call it a setup unless a series of events that amount to nothing make their way into the press involving his protection.

Try to find out first before letting your prejudice cloud your reasoning. Senator Obama is one half black. The Secret Service may have learned of a death threat or a plot on his life. There are still red necks in the US who hate black people.

I don't think its a set up. I do think that he must have had too many death threats against him so they decided to go with it, the article says this is not the case but i really see no other reason for such action. They probably don't want anyone to know about it because they are investigating.

I think it's great. He's got my vote. Stop worrying, He's history in the making. He's just making alot of people nervous. And they should be. He's the most intelligent and influential presidential candidate for quite some time. Next stop..The White House!

Actually, my guess is that it's because they're concerned for his safety...The sad fact of the matter is that we live in a place where people are still killed because of the color of their skin.

We have, in fact, seen questions on this very site that clearly show people looking at his race as the deciding factor on whether or not they'd vote for him...A tragedy, as far as I'm concerned.

I have to vehemently disagree with your incorrect racist statement in regards to the President. I can guarantee that Hillary is more of a threat to obama than any one else is. You need to really rethink your racial hatred of this president. You are dead wrong in your assessment.
