Liberals have no shame

US Presidential hopeful Barack Obama can now count himself as one of the millions of Americans with Irish heritage.

Research by the genealogy website ancestry.co.uk reveals that Mr Obama's great great great grandfather was born in Ireland, although it is not yet known where.

Falmouth Kearney sailed from Ireland to New York in 1850 at the age of 19 on the S.S. Marmion arriving on the 20th of March

I thought he was black irish from county Tyrone? By election time he'll have Jewish roots too, like Wesley Clarke, John Kerry, and George Allen, Jr.

You mean that, like most Americans (and I), he is of a mixed nationality? OH DEAR GOD! I can't imagine why I didn't realize that from looking at his skin color .... He's partly Irish (like me) (GASP!), then I'll vote for him right now, screw whatever positions he says he'll take, if elected. I wonder how my Native American ancestors are taking this development ....

Who cares what the nationalities or what races of any candidates are? This isn't liberalism at work; it's the media trying to create a story out of nothing. An Irish reporter for an Irish news site [citing a f**king English source (I'm only joking; I'm also English)] had a slow news day and tried to create a story that would cause excitement among his readers: the citizens of Ireland. The article also cites Kennedy's, Reagan's, and Clinton's Irish ancestries.

The U.S. elections are big deals, even for other countries. Citing Obama's Irish roots allows the people of Ireland to "buy in" to the election on an emotional level. It lets them feel a sense of pride that the Irish are contributing to and helping to lead a country far stonger (economically and militarily) than their country. I imagine the citizens of Kenya are just as exited about Obama running.

His constant seperation of his heritage is exactly why I would not vote for him. What ever happened to being AMERICAN?
So far, he is a Swiss, Irish, Christian, Muslim, African American.
How can we expect a man to unite a country, when he can't get himself together?

No he's not an Irishman. He, like millions of other Americans, is of Irish descent. Why the fake outrage?

If he is Irish, then I am a Chinaman. He is a race warlord ready to pander to anything. I bet if German Shepherds voted he would say he is part that too.
