...Who is the government to come in and say that a PLANT is illegal and you are a criminal for growing it and a criminal for what you choose to put in your own body?

Who is the government to build massive amounts of jails and a criminal justice beurocracy just to house political "criminals" ie NON violent drug offenders (50% of jail population),
diverting the police and investigators attention away from REAL criminals, like murderers, child molesters and rapists?

And filling our court houses with BS red tape?
Is this all to create government jobs
and kill two birds with one stone, the poor are sedated and have drugs to sell, and when caught, are housed in jails keeping the unemployment rate low while creating more jobs for government workers?

Or is he just another bought and paid for political hack from Hollywood who thinks that Alec Baldwin and Barbra Streisand have it right. Being that he's from Hollywood, he resembles another famous resident of that town. I keep waiting for him to say "Theee-Theee-a-Theee-Thee-a-Theee-Theee-a-That's All Folks".

My brother had an assult charge about 5 years ago in which he served time for. (like 6 months) Apparently, he has to pay the guy that he assulted for 7 years. He hasn't paid in almost a year now because he's been having trouble holding down a job. He moved a month ago and didn't receive a letter in the mail telling him to go to court. The next day they arrested him! He is VERY upset and they have a court date scheduled for today. Does anyone know what is going to happen? Im so scared for him! I dont know the laws! akkk!

I mean i know i've been asking a lot of questions about this stuff for a 15 year old. But I mean the USA is probably the best country to live in EVER, and you would think that other countries would want equal success and become democratic countries, which would change a lot of problems in the world!! I guess this goes back to the question "why can't we all just get along" man it just is starting to bother me that sometime in my lifetime USA is going to go through another "depression" or "war" and all these peace that we have now is going to be gone. and it's just funny how they're is a whole other universe out there and here we are just one little speck of life, so you would think we would be unified. but instead we all speak different languages and have different religions, different beliefs. We start wars and kill our own species. It's almost embarrasing, and sometimes I even hope that aliens attack, because then the whole world would unite.

Mem'ries. . . . Like the corners of my mind
Misty water colored memories. .. . of the way we were

Scattered pictures. . . of the Smiles we left behind
Smiles we gave to one another. . . for the way we were

Can it be. .. that it was all so simple then
Or has time re-written every line
If we had the chance to do it all again
Tell me would we ? Could we ?

Mem'ries. . may be beautiful. . . and yet ,
What's too painful to remem-ber.. . . We simply choose to forget
So it's the laughter. . we will remember
Whenever we remember

The Way We Were !!

Ahhh, the days before mass school shootings every year, the days before the rise of Radical Islam , the days before political correctness.. . . .. . the days when neighbors had permission to scold their neighbors children AND they were Thanked for it !! Baseball and football games in the street or on a corner lot !!
And the days where you could spend your entire career. . . at 1 company !!

Its only known export to the outside world is terrorism. More than 60% of the population lives in absolute poverty. Repeated military takeovers have left the constitution in shambles.

Have you noticed that during the normal 'workin hours' that the majority of the answers are from conservatives and republicans? I know after 6:00 pm the amount of liberal and democratic posters rises dramatically. Why?

This is for fun - no need to get nasty if you are a con or a repub and chose to answer this question anyway.

Both the troubles in the middle-east and climate change center on the use of oil. Oil as an energy source has led us into war, fouled the air, and interrupts our economic expansion because of shortages.
Even if climate change science is wrong, our need for oil has created the worst national defense problem since WWII. Isn't it time we see the light?
At the present rate of advancement, we are 25 to 35 years away from being able to use hydrogen as a fuel source. The question is, can we wait that long.
Should research and development of hydrogen fuel be handled like the Manhatten Project during WWII? Could such a commitment cut that time line down considerably?

I've often wondered about this . Surely there are clear-cut psychos on this site and that would concern me if one of them recognized you in public .
On the other hand, I would love to meet most of the users . But I'd never post a real portrait . Much too risky in my mind .

What about you ?
