Mem'ries. . . . Like the corners of my mind
Misty water colored memories. .. . of the way we were
Scattered pictures. . . of the Smiles we left behind
Smiles we gave to one another. . . for the way we were
Can it be. .. that it was all so simple then
Or has time re-written every line
If we had the chance to do it all again
Tell me would we ? Could we ?
Mem'ries. . may be beautiful. . . and yet ,
What's too painful to remem-ber.. . . We simply choose to forget
So it's the laughter. . we will remember
Whenever we remember
The Way We Were !!
Ahhh, the days before mass school shootings every year, the days before the rise of Radical Islam , the days before political correctness.. . . .. . the days when neighbors had permission to scold their neighbors children AND they were Thanked for it !! Baseball and football games in the street or on a corner lot !!
And the days where you could spend your entire career. . . at 1 company !!

I agree. I just wish you had not have used a Barbara Streisand song.... she is a lunatic liberal.
I remember growing up in the 60's when you could camp out in your yard in tents and not worry about being kidnapped by a child molester. When you went to school and were taught American history in a unedited manner. When you and your friends had a family of a Mother and a Father.
When if you were protesting something... everyone knew you were a loon. When hard work was not only expected it was accepted. When people were embarrassed to be on government assistance.
Ah.. the good old days.
Sigh...

I was six years old in 1980. I sometimes miss the 80s, but unfortunately, I didn't have the best time when I was in school. (I had a lazy eye and untreated and undiagnosed ADHD, so I was often picked on.) I often miss the music and fashion of the 80s, but I really wouldn't want to relive my school experiences.

No. I would not be the person that I am today if I had not experienced every thing that I have. Going back to avoid the truth is not the answer. Taking action now to revive the things that were good. Cut the negative garbage loose and move forward.

I would prefer to go back to pre WW2. When it only took one income to raise a family. The mother was at home with the children. People had respect and morals. Life was simpler.

Please...don't make me go through High School AGAIN!!!
And I'm not really looking forward to having the next door neighbor smack me and then tell MY MOTHER about it...just to get smacked again!
But I could go for a round of stickball!!

Athletes didn't use Steroids. Gas was under a Dollar a Gallon. Compassion was how we lived. Patriotism, was a foregone conclusion. And we thought it was really rough.

I don't know about 1980, I'd like to rewind back before Hippies.
Like to 1962, when we had good Tv shows like Andy Griffith and Leave it to Beaver.
No abortion
No terrorism
No child molestation.

Nope. Memories are fine (Reagan--good, Carter--horrible). But I am content to be here now.

Ah, back to the days before republican control of government. You’re right; except for the 1990s, it has been all down hill since 1980.
