My boyfriend joined the National Guard two days ago, he's been in drills all weekend, and he's elated. I'm nervous because it all seems to be happening so fast. I know nothing about the military and have spent most of my life listening to people who are totally against it. I'm proud of him for joining but there is a lot i don't understand . how long is boot camp? what is it like? will i be able to talk to him? He wants to go to boot camp this may so he can enroll in ROTC this fall, is that possible? when he's out of boot camp what will happen? what is AIT (he's said that a lot lately)? when he's out of colege will they station him somewhere else? what does active duty really mean? i'm proud of him but i'm so afraid to sound ignorant that i'm not talking much and i think he might have the assumption that i'm not interested which is the exact opposite. could someone please help me?

By your answer, are you showing that Americans--since the hippie movement of the 1960's--have come to embrace losing? That we no longer want to preserve our values of freedom, and instead will succumb to Islamofascism and socialism?

Why our poiticians in the USA are consistantly against Labor Unions in this Country yet push for over seas countries such as Iran, China, and Russia, to name a few, to allow Labor Unions to exist in their's. Seems to me that this is another fact that shows hypocracy!!

I read a lot of the questions and answers on here and it seems to me that the ones who use words like "libtards" and the like and go on endlessly about supporting our president and the war and how we shouldn't question anything are the same ones who, when there isn't a war going on and our troops are back home are complaining about black helicopters flying over their homes and their need to organize and play soldier in the back woods to ready themselves for the government takeover so they can keep their much needed AR-15 fully automatic 30 round magazine with night vision deer hunting rifle, and god forbid anyone trying to take their 50 cal. squirrel rifle. When our troops come back home and the war is at an end will the government then revert back to being the sneaky evil it used to be?

Is Al-Qaeda is an "Islamic" terrorist organizaiton?

I ask this because I have trouble accepting that it is anything more than an extremely sophisticated criminal organization with Islam being a universal link between its members.

Al-Qaeda says that they are soldiers fighting for Islam, the media says they are Muslim fighters going after non-Muslims and the Government says they a Muslims bent on killing non-Muslims. Does giving Al-Qaeda the title of "Terrorist" help anybody? Think about Al-Qaeda claims to be fighting for Muslims who are under siege by non-believers who are hostile to Islam. These "non-believers" label them terrorists and the "non-believers" wage war them.

Al-Qaeda is not fighting for Islam, they are fighting for power plain and simple like most organized crime. And like many criminal organizations they have somewhat benevolent origins.

Maybe we should start adresssing and treating Al-Qaeda as it is, a criminal organization.
