Earlier today, I heard on the radio that according to a poll, fewer than 1/5 of all Iraqis had confidence in the US military's ability to maintain order in Iraq and 86 or 87% of all Iraqis fear that they or someone in their family will become the victim of violence.

And not only hasn't Bush's mission been accomplished in Iraq there is no end in sight & when he finally "jumps ship" by leaving office in 2 years he will happily pass his Iraq mess to the poor fool who becomes his successor. What a true patriot that Bush is. Don't you think?

Do you have as much disdain for them as you do for the dems who are against the war? I ask because I read so many questions about the dems being against it...what do you think of the reps who are against it?

What do you think of these protest? In past wars I have read
where the troops would pull back and plan a new stratagie
when things were not going well. President Bush just keeps
insisting that we are doing the right thing. In the mean time our
families and friends are dying over in this foreign land. So are
great numbers of the Iraqi people. What are your thoughts?

He hardly one either election (didn't actually win the first, in a situation so bad other countries contemplated overseeing the next US election).
Our president does not have the support of the population, do you think there is something wrong with that?

The latest poll of Iraqis show that most think their lives are better now than under Saddam. They also disagree that the violence they currently face is a "Civil war". They also believe to a high degree that it would be disastrous for troops to leave now, although they also say they wish they could leave soon.

Lets face the facts, with Al Qaeda and Iranian agents flooding into Iraq in an attempt to seize the country, violence will continue for awhile. But the cut and run philosophy of the Dems seems entirely political, and the Iraqis seem to completely disagree with them.

Iraq now: Free press, the right to vote for all, rapidly improving services and a budding free market economy.

It has been a trend in history, granting individuals rights and it is a very good thing. If i would have lived back in the day, i would have been all for black rights, and women rights. Even though i don´t agree with people being gay, i do think they should have the right to get married if they want.I agree with animal rights to a certain degree and i´ll let it go at that.

But with all the new technology and AI, and when the day comes that robots and computers can really think for themselves, will these machines ever be granted "rights" such as humans and "animals" have been granted?

would you be in support or against robot rights?

I recently asked the question "would it be illegal to create a virus or worms that seeks out and destroys other viruses or worms".

(Can view it here

Now this got me thinking on an ethical side. Would it be ethical to create such a thing?

The more points of views the better please.

as an Englishman it always amazes me that you hardly ever see Americans playing sport.
Having recently visited America the only pastimes i saw them playing were as follows
!)A rugby type game, but with huge padded suits and helmets
2)Rounders, but less interesting
3)Netball for blokes, with more music than actual play
Ive no idea what these games are called, but they are not sport.
Anyone know any others?
