Your question is to be put before higher authorities of Police Force and Educational System and especially to the table of those who pass orders / Nation Cadet Corps and Physical Education System who put these personnel in every town and colleges and train them on these lines to assist Traffic police.

Chennai police has successfully implemented a programme of participation of Auto Rickshaw and Taxi Drivers and trained them in assisting traffic regulation. When you visit Chennai next time look out for uniformed civilians regulating pedestrian traffic. They are auto drivers helping traffic under police guidance. They work during their off time.

According to one press report regulating pedestian traffic in signals is difficult rather than regulating vehicular traffic.
This scheme is not only successful and we can feel the difference when you ride on an auto driven by a trained driver

During school time I have seen NSS boys and PETs regulating car parking and road crossings near by to respective schools..

N.C.C. Cadets also are trained to regulate and hand signal traffic flow. Along with them their teachers too involve themselves as N.C.C.Officers. This happens not only in metros but in District , Taluque Head Quarters also.

Similarly State Transport bus conductors and drivers, Railway staff can also be trained in traffic control and used during peak hour traffic.

Your suggestion should be considered by appropriate authorities.

Traffic Police can take services of NSS teachers / students but payment is difficult. None want to work for free. I can work for free is fare, eatable etc. is given to me. You can assist at your own but will have no right for challan etc. If you get right, you will demand money. This is problem.
