For a person who's actions effect us socially and economically, the media seems to be preoccupied with race and genitalia.

It doesn't matter the color, the gender, or the religion of the president. But the issue at hand is does their intellect even matter? Nobody wants to just put a woman or a black man in the office, it's just a gimmick. But the real question is, if a black man and a white man both ran for president at nearly the same exact intelligence and capacity, what are the odds that the black man would win? And mind you, this question is being asked in 2007.

Neither a woman, nor a black man are going to become President any time soon.

I'm a Democrat and I still believe the candidates we have so far won't be able to beat either a John McCain or Gulliani.

Those two Republicans are popular with both parties, where as Hillary and Obama aren't even terribly popular in their own party.

We'd like to think Americans are progressive thinkers and ready for one of the two, but we're not.

I don't agree with the predjudice, but I cannot pretend it doesn't exist either.

Of course! The Liberal media is all about hype.
It only matters that the person who becomes our leader be intelligent and qualified. As Martin Luther King stated, "Do not judge a person by the color of their skin, judge them by the content of their being," I believe this rings true for male or female. It doesn't matter if the leader is purple or is male or female. Are they qualified should be the only question.

Good president. Some people seem to think that having a first female or first black president will fix all of our problems.

Obama does not be the 1st one million/2 black President. the 1st one million/2 black President became Warren G. Harding, jointly as he did no longer embody his black roots he became nonetheless one million/2 black. If Hillary is elected she could be the 1st woman President in u . s ..

the media is a bad area to look at candidates. people think that just because a candidate was on the Today show, that they have a good chance of winning. Al gore was on every television network and Bush was nowhere to be seen. what does that tell you?

It's very likely that the next president will not be a good one whether it's a he, a she, a he/she; full of color or colorless or whatever.
